You say that you want to continue to get information to "that hard to reach readership". Well check the circulation figures from this next weekend. I think that you will find that that hard to reach readership show their moral values by taking their custom elsewhere, making them harder to reach if you continue your column for Murdoch Corp."When the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty." - Thomas Jefferson0

Martin Lewis in 'All Self Publicity is Good Publicity' shocker.
Did anyone believe it would be otherwise?
The News of the World is exactly the same scummy paper with the same owners as it was, the only difference is they got caught. They are scumbag parasites and that hasn't changed, the only thing is that one out of their arsenal of disgusting practices is now out-of-bounds.
Martin's logic 'Yes I will continue doing business with these scumbag criminals, but it's ok because they've promised me they will stop this particular form of scumbag criminal activity, and I believe them, as they are clearly upright decent people whom I want to associate myself with'. Er what?0 -
Next weeks poll
Should Martin give up his column in NOTW, Yes or No?0 -
Sorry Martin. as a long time supporter of MSE, I think you are taking the moral low ground. !!!!!! go elsewhere.0

"The moral temptation is to make a stand, "
I could not say it better. The temptation to be moral is obviously not enough. Frankly, your comments are self important and self delusional. I am sure other papers or media would be happy to have you on their staff, and you have no evidence that current practices are immoral BUT you do have evidence that past practices were.
We are also witnessing Coulson being sacrificed by News International to protect Brookes, when both and more should face the music. This in MANY eyes is still immoral.
Overall very disappointing. Frankly I think you would have been better not making a statement rather than releasing such an unconvincing one. This will only push other to HDUK, magic freebies and other sites and adversely effect this community.
Again, so disappointing. I can not see people judging you on this one
PS What would NEWS OF THE WORLD have to do to make you resign? As frankly, I can not think of many things worse than what has already happened................ Have you ever wondered what
¦OO¬¬ O[]¦ Martin would look like
¦ _______ ¦ In a washing machine

MSE supports help for heroes.
Its owner works for an organisation that may have hacked the phones of dead soldiers. I would suggest that that charity may wish to disassociate itself.0 -

Martin needs to leave.
& tonight he will know that.

Perhaps you should be making the decision based on News International not just News of The World.
I'm thinking of cancelling our Times subscription. I think Rebekah Brooks should go. It has annoyed me more that they are making excuses. She was either in charge, in which case she should go, or not in charge and therefore wasn't doing her job anyway.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
I don't believe that every News of the World reader agrees with the paper's terrible conduct. However, the readers who follow your editorial Martin look for help and guidance from you. You owe it to those readers to redirect their "loyalty" to another place. Give them a reason to stop spending their money on disgusting and poor journalism. Do the right thing. Ditch the dirt. That paper needs you more than you need it.0

I think you need to go with your gut instinct and make a moral stand!
This site is all for transparency, making people/companies/Government accountable and fair.
I think in this instance Martin you need to stand up and be counted :money:0
