It most definetly is illegal and needs to be stopped. The water company would wish to know and e health.0

Those drains aren't filtered or treated like the water from your toilet. They are supposed to just contain rainwater and thus dump straight into the nearest river or whatever.0

People just don't care less sometimes. Infuriating!0

Ring the Environment Agency. They will take this very seriously.

Used engine oil is highly carcinogenic.... Long term exposure or ingestion can cause cancer. What your neighbour is doing IS extremely serious.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Agree report it, lots of council tips (recycling centres) have waste oil collection tanks were it is then reused in some way. The other option is to mix it with diesel/paraffin and use it to paint fence panels.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

I'm not a fan of reporting people for this, that and the other but in this case I would report him straight away without hesitation.
I'd also confront him and kick up a fuss and make sure other neighbours get to know too.
People like this make my blood boil.

Just for the record, many council refuse facilities (dumps) which are open to the public have a thing you can put used engine oil in.0
