do you all have? and how often do you use them? do you think they are worth it? good value etc.....do you have any you wish you'd never bought?.....any you secretly or not so secretly wish for??
we have......
large george foreman grill........used fairly often.
kenwood smoothie maker.....new for xmas so only tried it once but very impressed so i think it'll be put to good use!.
2 x 6.5l morphy richards slowcookers........use one all the time, the other(freebie-long story) is up in loft in case of emergency!!
chip fryer.......hardly used, but very handy when needed.i know oven cooked chips etc are healthier but i hate, hate, hate the taste!!!
yogurt maker.......used very often both baby and 3yo love yogurt.
morphy richards fastbake breadmaker.......used at least every other day for bread.....also used very often for other things.
food processer........used occasionally but in general i find it a pain in the bum to get it-and all attatchments out, theres usually a quicker/less washing up/easier option!
small electrical hand blender.......used lots for babies food, was a cheap under a fiver one bought for this purpose.
electric knife......hubby uses it every time we have a joint.
kenwood slicer......again new for christmas but very well used at the moment-think its fantastic!!
sandwich toaster......hasnt seen the light of day since we got the george foreman!
hubby would love an electrical wok......god knows why!!!! i dont see the point so i've been putting my foot down on the subject for about 18 months!!!
my dad thinks i should have a pressure cooker....but tbh im scared of them :rotfl: and i dont really see the point.
im dithering over an ice cream maker but we all love value ice cream when we - rarely-eat it so i dont think it would be worth it.
im also dithering over getting a smaller slow cooker for sauces/dips etc or just for when i simply dont need lots.
i've also quite liked the electrical steamers for a while but we have a traditional steamer so surely it wouldnt be worth it? my traditional one must do the same job right?
would also love a kenwood chef as i've heard such good things about them but wonder if it would be a waste of money and draw the same comments/problems from me as my food processer?0 -
Food processor and Bread maker. Saves a huge amount of time cooking wise.

We have:
Electric knife - also used for joints
bread maker - which is used every other day
slow cooker - cant live without it (its on now cooking brisket yummy!!!)
food processor - not used that often but can come in useful when making lots of cakes
hand blender - used loads for purees and soups
electrical steamer - hardly used as we have a traditional one (wished i hadnt bought the electrical one)
cant think of anything else atm
cant recommend the SC enough - you must get one they save loads of time0 -
i have george foreman, rarely used, blender/food processor rarely used, most effective gadget in my kitchen is kettle and my hands i think. slow cooker a must though, thats about it. even toaster lurks in back of cupboard somewhere.0

As well as the usual gadgets (I love kitchen gadgets!) we have a 'magic bullet'. You may have seen these on the shopping channels for around £60 - I paid £29 on eBay for mine - they are fantastic!! Make HM pasta sauces all the time, HM soup (the blender cup goes straight from the blender to the microwave to heat the soup), HM sandwich spread (leftover meat blended with mayo and seasoning, and we make HM slush in the summer from fruit juice and ice cubes. The mugs attach straight to the bullet so you can make different flavours for everyone. Also use it regular for smoothies, hot chocolate, cappuchino etc. One of the best gadgets I have by far!! and used daily!! Wish I had this for pureeing/blending when my son was born!!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I used to buy lots of kitchen gadgets. I have cupboards full of them but now I am more sensible. I used to be Lakeland Limited best customerWendy0 -
I love my kitchen gadgets! Used to have a 1960's Kenwood Chef but unfortunately finally blew it up 5 years ago. Now have a Magimax 5100 food processor. Expensive but worth every penny. No faults in 5 years....works every time without fail. I rarely bother with all the stuff that comes with it. The metal blade seems to do everything. Still hankering after another Kenwood though, but would have to be a secondhand one to get the quality.
Worst buy - one of those electric hand blender stick things. Useless, didn't seem to do what it was supposed to so I gave it away.
Recent buy - The cookworks slow cooker - thanks to a thread on MSE. Reduced from 19.99 to 9.99. Had some nectar points and with the 1.49 insurance came to £9. Absolute bargain. Beef stew was excellent. (need the insurane as afterall I'm going to drop the crock!)
Also absolutely excellent - Panasonic SD 253 breadmaker. Wonderful. Never had a problem in over 2 years.0 -
I have a bread maker, food processor, slow cooker, hand blender (the one thing i wouldnt be without!!!!) and i am thinking of getting a small chip fryer, i heard that thick cut potatoes fried, are healthier than some of the oven chips, and prob a lot cheaper!!!! Used to have a coffee machine, blender and popcorn maker and they were never used, so sold them/gave them away!!!
