I was wondering if you could help me please.

I have broken my phone big time. The screen is smashed and there is black liquid in the display and I can't actually see anything on it now so it well and truly dead. I need to get another one and was looking for some advice and / or recommendations please.

I want something with a touch screen ideally and must be able to get good internet access. (I could get internet access on my old one but it struggled with big websites like forums etc.)

Do I need to get a smart phone? Is this just a posh phone with the facility for apps and other software or it there more to it?

I don't think I need apps stuff but am looking at these two:

Which I don't think are smart phones - or are they?!

I must be on pay as you go and don't really want to spend much more than £120.

Any ideas or help please?!

Thank you.

Your links don't work, so it's impossible to say.
Smartphone is an ambiguous term, but usually is used for the phones with some advanced operating system:iOS (iPhone); android (various); simbian (Nokia), Windows Phone 7 (various).

Very few smartphones are in your price range:
Best Android Handset at around £100
    Android phone for £100?

You should be able to pick up the HTC Wildfire S for near that. I find it a great allrounder, worthy if paying a bit extra compared to the standard Wildfire. 3 have it for 150 quid and you might find it cheaper elsewhere especially with quidco or TBC.
IMO smart phones have larger screens proportionally so make internet viewing easier
