Have you tried her with a different kind of bottle? Perhaps she would prefer the ones which are designed to be like breastfeeding. I thinkthe closer to nature bottle is actually designed to be warm to the touch as well, rather than cold as most bottle teats are. Also you don't mention whether you are trying her with expressed milk or formula milk - if it's formula, could you try expressing for a while and start mixing in some formula (Say 1 oz) with expressed milk, then up it to 2 oz etc, so she gets used to it? It might be as simple as she doesn't like the taste or smell.
Other than that a cup as others have suggestedThe doidy cup comes very highly recommended, but I haven't used one so I don't know personally.
I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right0 -
its great to hear everyone being so positive
im sure that my mil thinks ive lost the plot :rotfl: - and other mums just stare when we are out and about - probably more so as dd was premature and still totty for her age
it was hard at the beginning as no-one (not even hv) had heard of it and were a bit sceptical
but im so glad that i stuck to my guns as it suits my dd and i so well
best moneysaving tip i can give is buy an ikea highchair - £15 it comes with a tray and blow up insert and it can be put in the shower and hosed down.
we looked at loads of posh ones (as in-laws had offered to pay lol) but none came close to ikea one - my dd loves being in0 -
It is expressed milk, no formula has passed her lips as yet.
Thanks for all the ideas everyone, looks like I have some shopping to do tomorrow!2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -
Hi
I'd never heard of this but my daughter hated puree baby foods and much prefered to eat what we were eating.
She let me know when she was ready when at 5 1/2 months when she redirected the slice of toast I was about to eat to her mouth and gummed it.
She didn't get her first tooth until she was 13 months old but this didn't stop her trying most things.0 -

I have done it with my boy and he loves it, I didn't force it, it was his choice, I also give him 'mush' which consists of pulses, veggies, fruits etc. Chicken and some meats occasionaly but they are more difficult as they need heating so can't be fed whilst you are out.
There is an awful lot of pressure these days to do things a certain way with your children and I firmly believe that your lifestyle and your babies personality should lead the way.
Do your own thing, be proud of it and .... even show it off by having 10 accronyms at the bottom of your sig!!!!!!

hi (I am using my hubbys id so I am a female but you all get confused)
when I breastfed my 1st exactly this happened, at first I thought no probs (going back to work at 6 months), an had started storing expressed milk in freezer for hubby)....but little madam had other ideas
she refused a bottle of expressed, formula etc, and it became a battle of wills, HV said let hubby feed her (she could smell me, and when she cried my boobs started leaking
We tried him feeding at sis in law (anything to break the routine), beaker etc, but nothing worked, in the end HV said right babies will not starve themselves, this little madam has iron will, so you need to show her whos boss
she got a tiny glass for me (like the shot glasses from a pub), a new bottle, and put formula milk with tiny amounts of a strawberry mlkshake in (baby one from boots) to disguise the taste,
I had to go out for the day and then they starved her, trying her every few hours.....it took just under 24 hours but she took the bottle (she was exhausted), and she went onto forumla with the milkshake (which we then slowly reduced and removed over a month or so) - HV said once some babies refuse to leave the boob then they will not take the expressed milk as the association is too strong
Kids 2 & 3 - breastfed til 6 months, but from day 7 one / 2 was a bottle of my milk from hubby at random times -so we all knew where we stood, and then no probs (but tbh child 2 (boy) was that much of a pig he would not have cared who did what as long as it was for him and lots of it :rotfl: )
hope it helps, I know how hard it is to hear them cry, as it really made me cry, and tense up, (and they can tell), and I really started to resent feeding her, as I felt she was becoming a noose around my neck (in that tired stressed mum kind of way)0 -
good luck
my DD BF until she was 17 months she would not take a cup or a bottle or anything.I bought all manner of different bottles and teats, had other people feed her etc...none of it worked.Sorry!
In the end she had to be brought to me at work so i could feed her there.
Personally i think it is cruel to allow a child to cry and scream for hours just so as parents can get them off the breast.....how would you feel if someone tried to do that to you?:heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -

How rude. Some women have to return to work you know. Some women also like to have a life too. My wife wanted to start going out, enjoying herself again. There is no harm in that. Women are people as well as mothers.0 -
have you tried spoon feeding milk? I know it is a little slow - but it can be done with a little patience - and may help if you move onto baby rice - which we did at about 4 1/2 months.Don't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0
