Another BLW-er here! Puree is for wimps
DD is now 11 months old and has what we have, usually in it's original state, and we have never shovelled. As such she is very adventurous, loves the different textures and colours, and us parents actually get to eat OUR meals while they are still hot! It is really fun when we are out for the day as she will share a plate of something with me in a cafe or else I take a picnic in a mini lunchbox. I have saved a fortune as I have not had to buy any specialist baby food equipment- no blender, weaning spoons, mini freezer tubs, travel tubs, warmers and coolers, oh and no jars either.
It's the future!0 -
Hi all, in need of some wisdom from other mums!
I'm breastfeeding my 4 1/2 month old daughter and plan to stop at 6 months. Trouble is she absolutely refuses to take a bottle. She used to have a bottle of expressed milk from OH at night but then we got out of the habit while on holiday and now she goes mental if a bottle is put in her mouth! The milk comes out of the teat very easily so she can taste the milk in her mouth but she just won't suck on the bottle.
How on earth can I wean her off the breast when she hates bottles so much?2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -
Hiya. I have heard that this bottle helps "The Adiri Natural Nurser Ultimate Baby Bottle" here is the link http://www.adiri.com/
Good luck"mongrels can be just as bad as pedigree dogs"0 -
I had the same trouble with dd6, and we just persevered and she gave in when hungry - Several days of screaming fits later. With my now 16 week old i gave up B/F 3 weeks ago and she took to the bottle no prob
Have you tried either from a beaker or cup? Think this what most hv/experts reccommend. Also you should not give her this as more unlikely to take it as she can smell your milk - get DH to try
Good Luck0 -
My little boy has been mix fed from about 3 months, so not really sure if I'll be of much help. However, I'm going back to work in just under 3 weeks, and he is still breastfeeding. He has a bf in the morning, a bottle around 2pm, and then another bf at bed time. He would be happy to go without the afternoon feed though and just have water. I also have a friend who's little boy is allergic to formula and she's back at work, he just has 2 bfs too, and water/juice in the day.
Would you be able to just carry on breastfeeding? By the time you introduce solids, I'm sure she will just drop a lot of feeds herself.
Otherwise I'd just suggest either offering a cup, or trying loads of different bottles/teats.Debts May 09 [strike]£100 Od[/strike], [strike]£1550 boiler[/strike], [strike]£1750[/strike] £400 credit card  Goal - to 3k of savings by Oct 2009 in time for Baby num 2 :j Total so far £12000 -

I will try the suggested bottle - cheers. The cup idea i hadn't thought of, for some reason thought she would be too young but will give this a go.
Yes, I get OH to do the bottle feeding so she can't smell my milk!
Yorkshire Chick - I know she will drop feeds when I introduce solids but she will still need about a pint of milk a day for ages in addition to solids for like ages won't she? I could continue b/feeding I suppose but have been so looking forward to getting my boobs back. And the luxury of being able to leave DD with a babysitter once in a while! I've loved breastfeeding but feeling in need of a break!2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -
We did BLW too and it was brilliant. No faffing about with mush, and we can all eat our dinner at the same time. Be prepared for plenty of mess though!0

This way just seems so much more logical to meI don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right0
