I wash the dog in baby shampoo, much cheaper than the overpriced doggy shampoo, and baby shampoo is ok as its not as harsh as a normal shampoo.

The value vinegar is fine, I use it to pickle my onions and beetroots as it works out cheaper than the larger containers, I then use the empty jars for hm tomato based sauces.

Not value item - but weirdly priced

    Original Freshmint toothpaste 100ml = 39p
    Whereas
    Original Freshmint toothpaste 50ml = 51p

    Not tried yet though!

I notice that Asda do this too with their prices. It makes me angry because I feel as if I am being hoodwinked. It seems particularly true when you buy the coffee in pouches instead of in the glass jars. The pouches are rarely cheaper than the jars. It is my pet hate!

    To those buying shed loads....

Don't you realise you then force tesco to put the prices up anyway?

Tesco Baby bath and shampoo has been below 10p for ages. It won't be for long now...

Look at it this way, when the prices go up we promise NOT to buy ANY and that way the prices will soon drop below 10p again :)

    Hello Fellow Frugals,
    I have just scurried to Tesco and back after reading this thread to pick up some bargains. Here's what I found in Havant;
Cornflakes 31p B2G1F (I have loads of cheap mini eggs left from easter so guess what me and DD will be making tomorrow lol)
    Pasta Quills 32p
Value Choc Mousse - 31p (4 pack) DD adores these!
    Baby Wipes- 49p
    Nappy Bags - 27p (300)
Baby Bath - 5p (No shampoo or lotion left though)

And to top it off I found a pack of reduced/yellow sticker Cream Eclairs for 30p. I never find these reduced to I have snapped them up for me and OH's tea :)

    Keep hunting ladies

How do you know they are discontinuing their Value range? Does this mean that I have to drag my husband back to Tesco today to stock up even further?!! Thanks.

Well if they ever do, that'll be another reason to shop in the competitors stores for their basics range!!

(they'd still see me at reduction time on occasion though ;)
