Beko Fridge Freezer faults

  • Hey All,

I also have an affected Fridge Freezer :( AND I am also experiencing the same problem with getting through to their Freephone "Customer Service" line - 0800 009 4837. Been trying multiple times yesterday and today. At around 7pm last night it was telling me to hold on to speak with someone and then it cut dead and on ringing back it told me that line closed at 5pm?! When I tried again I got the previous message of holding on to speak with someone?!?! Grrrrr. Same thing today.

I just did a "GCache" of their Contact Us page to share other 'not free' contact numbers for Beko:

    Beko plc United Kingdom
    Beko House
    Caxton Way
    Watford
    Herts
    WD18 8UF
    Tel: +44 (0) 845 600 4904

Book a Service Call or Product Installation
    Mon - Fri 9.00am - 5.30pm
    To book a service engineer
    UK Mainland & Northern Ireland
    Refrigeration
    Tel: 0845 600 4903

It truly has been unbelievably badly handled considering the severity of the potential which can happen and sadly which has happened already :(

    :(

Just tried and you will get through to this number straight away but they are unable to help you. however the girl said that the opening hours for the helpline have been extended and it will be open until 11pm.

Ours is one of the ones of the list, so I shall try to ring them soon.

Mine was on the list. Yet another automated service!! You'd think they would offer better customer service after selling you a product that can potentially cause fires!

in fairness, the lines are getting clogged up with people who don't have affected models calling to check apparently - there was a story in the metro today with quotes from the beko people asking people not to call unless they are affected. they have got in extra staff and they are keeping the phone lines open until 11pm tonight. i got through on a different number earlier - 01923 818121. not sure if this is open until 11pm too, but the freephone one is. just need to keep trying

I feel for all you folks in this terrible situation, I bought a electric cooker from beko 6 yrs ago and vowed id never buy from them again..........when the cooker was first installed and I used the oven as soon as it heated up the glass door on the oven exploded into a million pieces of glass..........

To cut a very long story short .......I too had terrible problems trying to get throught to them.......after such a stressfull 2 wks I decided that id had enough of bekos after sales and I dumped the cooker at the household recycling centre, end of my problems........never ever again will I buy from beko..........I think you will all have a very long time to wait to get a call from them, as on tonights One Show it highlighted it and said that a lot of models numbers are dangerous and its from 2002 to 2006, I wonder how many items they sold in that 4 ys time period and how on earth are they going to take everyones call and deal with it...........

THE makers of a fridge freezer linked to house fires forced a website to pull a warning about its products.

RecallUK posted the caution in April that certain Beko models may be at risk.

But the firm ordered it to be dropped, saying it was not recalling the product – only modifying a defrost timer thought to be responsible.

Beko said: “We’re contacting customers to make the !modification so there is no need to recall the product.”

London Fire Brigade claims dodgy timers have triggered 20 fires since 2008 alone.

Mine's one of the models listed, can't find the serial number but we bought it in 2004 so I'd say there's a fair chance it's affected. Don't try the 'Check if your appliance is affected' option on the Beko site either - it loops back to the 'Important product information'.

Will pull the fridge out tomorrow after work with assistance from DS1 and search for the serial number then sit on hold to try to get through...
