"Innocent" smoothies! Carton rip-off

What do you guys expect them to do? OK they reduce the carton size because the ingredients cost more. Haven't you noticed mangos and things are now more expensive?
They put it all over their website that they're changing the carton size.
They put '750ml' on the carton.
What else should they do? Serious question, what would have made you happy?
I think the point here is that Innocent wish to make more money, but people don't wish to pay more. They've tried various ways of convincing people to spend more, multibuy offers, inflating price then discounting etc, but it's not working for them. They want more.
Through trial and error, products of this kind have ended up being sold in 1 litre quantities. This is what people want and Innocent know that. They've won awards for their success at selling 1 litre cartons. But they want more money than we are prepared to pay. A way of 'getting around this' is to discretely reduce the amount that you are selling without anybody noticing, essentially forcing/manipulating people into spending more than they want to spend. It goes on all the time.
I suspect people on this forum are particularly annoyed at Innocent because they have a 'squeaky clean' 'whiter-than-white' image. The act of reducing the carton proves that they are no different to any other company. Profit driven at the cost of ethics. Sainsbury's own smoothies are just as good, still sold in 1 litre units, much cheaper and give you your '2-a-day' per 250ml portion...buy them instead!0 -

If you didnt then how can they have decieved you? Why should they shout about it in the press - every other manufacturer of food and drinks have just about done the same with one or two products in their line up and havent said so..
Oh well
I realise this is an old thread...
At the time of the change the shelf edge label at a number of local Tescos continued to display 1 ltr for a few weeks despite me pointing it out many times..
One member of staff removed them all immediately as soon as I pointed them out only for them to return the next time I was in.
Anyway, that's an old story.0
