It's short for "that little white label on the shelf" - Shelf Edge Label0

thanks George. I was baffled as a number of posters used it and more than once in a post also.
I always thought it meant "Shelf Edge Label", but could be wrong!
For what it's worth though, I'd give huge respect if one of these companies who have been shrinking their products over the past few months would state "NEW!! SMALLER CARTON THAN EVER!!" on the label in big, bold letters. Just to show that they're not trying to hide anything - might possibly even win a few customers by being so honest...0 -

In the same way the Tossco et al should put big flashing lights round all the prices that they've put up this week so they can reduce them next week.
Let's just all get used to the fact that commodity pricing is fuid at the moment and all the marketing tricks in the world are being used to try and communicate 'VALUE'0 -
This happens in lots of products, have a look at Ginsters pasties, the packs of 4 contain much smaller pasties! But the weight is for the 4 so not easy to work out! Plus when Horlicks produced new packs for Horlicks light they messed with the pack sizes to make it difficult to work out best value, etc.etc.0

I am actually quite pleased with the new size cartoon as the old size was a bit two big for two us to drink before it started going funny. I have to say when I buy drinks I do look at the cartoon/bottle size because I know that a litre of fresh juice/smoothies is too much for two people to consume in the 2-3 days it stays fresh when open.
I dont think sainsburys were in the wrong here and no I dont work for either company - what were you expecting sainsburys to have done put up a 6 foot banner saying innocent smoothies now 25% smaller? come on get real! Im sure on the label on the self it would have the new size on it. Perhaps innocent could have said something on the bottles but like others have said everything is getting smaller and no other company advertises it.0 -
Apologies if i came across too strong OP, its just been well documentated about smaller packs/carton size0

What do you guys expect them to do? OK they reduce the carton size because the ingredients cost more. Haven't you noticed mangos and things are now more expensive?
They put it all over their website that they're changing the carton size.
They put '750ml' on the carton.
What else should they do? Serious question, what would have made you happy?0 -
What do you guys expect them to do? OK they reduce the carton size because the ingredients cost more. but the price wasnt reduced which i think is part of the OP's gripe and if the price was reduced then less money would be going into innocents pockets,
Haven't you noticed mangos and things are now more expensive? i mentioned this but i think the OP glazed over it
They put it all over their website that they're changing the carton size. They put '750ml' on the carton. some people expect the cartons/packs to say the pack has reduced in size, i on other hand do check the pack size and i do sometimes notice if its smaller
What else should they do? Serious question, what would have made you happy? he would have been happy if he had been pre warned about the smaller cartons eg a flashing sign saying smaller cartons
just a few things0
