Licence Revoked - a few questions

Excellent news - too many would be too willing/stupid and continue . No point pouring fuel onto the fire that is your current misery and compounding this situation.
Keep us up to date with how you resolve it as it may help others. Sadly I don't think there's been too many of us in your situation to offer advice other than don't drive and get on the blower to DVLA. It might actually be worth going to the local DVLA office if you've one close.0 -
Just an update, i got on the phone to the DVLA as soon as they opened at 9am this morning and eventually got through. I explained the situation, and the lady told me that it was "probably either in a backlog, or lost in the post". She also told me that she'd remove the revokation marker and that I could legally drive for a further 28 days until the situation is resolved.
I've been advised to wait 2 weeks (maximum processing time, apparently) and then apply for a new licence if I haven't had it back by then.
I may just apply for one now to be on the safe side.
It's good to know that I can still legally drive, but if the licence does turn out to be lost I will have to fork out for a new one, plus worry about possible identity theft.0 -

Also, I'll be apparently be deemed to be uninsured so could have the book thrown at me for driving without a licence and insurance.
How would DVLA know what vehicle you are driving at any given time? ANPR is only triggered as a result of the following:-
Police lost/stolen report
Police Action/reaction report
No insurance showing for the vehicle.
These reports are placed on specific vehicle records and are put on by police.
The action report would normally be placed on the system if it was known a vehicle was being driven by someone who was disqualified by a court, not where a licence has been revoked.
DVLA can set up ANPR to record vehicles that are showing as having no valid road fund licence.
As Woody has said elsewhere, your licence will only be revoked after 12 months at which point you will be driving without a valid licence. By that time the situation would have been sorted out. Hopefully:D"You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

I don't know the ins and outs, but I'd imagine that they would update with PNC system with a marker that would be something along the lines of "registered keeper of car XXXXX has had licence revoked". I don't know if the DVLA can do such a thing but I wouldn't put it past them.0 -
DVLA can only put markers on vehicle records to show that the road tax has expired, or the car has been scrapped or that the vehicle is curently in trade. These are some examples and are not exhaustive. They can also update the driving licence record to show a licence has been revoked, but as has been explained before, your licence is still valid for up to 12 months after the request to send the licence back has been made.
Police can attach reports to the PNC relating to vehicles that have been reported stolen, concerned in crime, where prohibition notices have been issued but they would not put a report relating to a person whose licence has been revoked. Nor would they notify police directly that a licence has been revoked."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"
