It came normal post, so no signature.
There is a local office in Plymouth, approx 15 miles away. I'll see what they say on the phone first.0 -

.
And at the moment you are driving with no licence and uninsured. You are not legally entitled to drive and if you are caught, the Police will have a field day with you, seize and impound the car on the spot and you'll have that many points on your licence when you do get it back you'll lose it instantly and be uninsurable for years.0 -

I suppose what I'm worried about is not being able to drive until the matter is sorted. I can't afford to not be able to drive, especially since the DVLA are known for taking ages to get things done.
You can't afford TO drive. You are now an unlicenced and uninsured driver. Your insurance policy is null and void in respect to covering you whilst driving because you don't have a licence.0 -

I am not currently driving, since I read the letter I have not driven anywhere and do not intend to do so until the matter is resolved.0 -

He's not, for the first 12 months it's simply a DVLA admin issue. They don't revoke the licence until it has been this way for 12 months.0 -

I doubt the insurer can get away with voiding a policy for a simple paperwork misshap. The wording of most policies is something like "has held and is not disqualified for holding or obtaining such a licence" as well, so innocent mistakes like this shouldn't cause a problem.
Wouldn't want to bet on it though...0 -
They never got your letter with your licence, you never got their letter saying licence revoked.
Quits I would say.
Just write them a letter asking why there is a delay in receiving your licence back after you sent it to them.0 -

I've heard from various people that a "marker" will now be placed on the PNC with regards to my car being registered to someone with an expired license, meaning my car will trigger police ANPR systems. Also, I'll be apparently be deemed to be uninsured so could have the book thrown at me for driving without a licence and insurance.0 -
If the DVLA is saying your license is revoked, then it's revoked until they say otherwise.
Get on to them and reapply, it can take a matter of days if your lucky, they are very efficient nowadays (losing mail aside).
Do not drive, you will get into more trouble, one APNR camera and your up s*** creak. Get a taxi, carpool.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0
