I suppose this depends on what the present could of been or the financial position of the poster? After all if your child was upset on xmas day for not getting what they really wanted then yes I would be devastated!
Surely it is a good lesson for the child that sometimes we don;t always get exactly what we want ... you can of course promise to get it for them after Christmas .. in the sales ... jeez I think I have just sussed out a whole new money saving christmas idea (IOUs all round) :D

Aim to finish present shopping in November, then you've got plenty time to sort out any mishaps. Works for me ;)

I normally do but this year we lost a lot of money in November due to our house sale falling through for second time and we didnt get our xmas bonus till 15th of dec. So for some people this isnt possible. Usually its all done by Oct.

  • https://www.lego.co.uk - rang to apologise that £50 item wouldn't arrive due to 'plane not arriving at fog bound Heathrow'... I thought all planes were arriving and it was just domestic flights that were being affected ?? Maybe they were flying the goods personally up to Leeds/Bradford

I am just glad we were "let down" by a lack of beds in the hospital my mum was due to go to for an op last week, at least she gets to spend Christmas with us before going in on Thursday (bed situation permitting of course).

I hope everyone who feels let down manages to get around it and doesn't let it completely spoil their festivities.
