Just out of curiousity, how long have you been at your current address? I'm wondering if they are doing this to everyone, or just people who have lived less than X number of years at an address.

I have lived at my address for 30 years and have been with my bank for 25 years, and I still had to return 4 documents for money laundering purposes. Laughable!

I too wonder if they have been inundated with applications and are concerned about paying out £50 cashback per app, so are trying to dissuade some people (perhaps those who are least likely to make them money?).

By the way, even though the card is Post Offce-branded, it's actually the Bank of Ireland that does all the behind-the-scenes stuff.

I wonder if they are trying to dissaude people, too, because they didn't figure on paying all that cashback, but don't think it's based on who is most likely to make them money. We never carry over a balance on our credit cards. We always pay off in full at the end of each month, so we're paying no interest. But maybe that looks appealing, like they know we're reliable because we always pay it back, and with no money owing they think we're ripe to get into debt with them? Not happening, lol.

I pay my credit card off in full every month, too. My point is - being that kind of person, I'm not going to make them much money, as I won't ever be paying them any interest.

Personally I would avoid the Post Office card at all costs. I've had mine a year and for the first few months I had nothing but problems. I can't wait to clear my balance on payday and then cancel the card.

"@Jennifer_Jane – I have enquired about this for you and I can confirm that this is just how the Post Office Credit Card programme works. If you receive an instant decision on the credit card your transaction will track in as normal, whereas if you receive a referred decision it will not track and you have to raise a claim. This is nothing to worry about, though, as we are aware of this and we are keeping an eye on the programme to make sure everything is as it should be. Also it may be worth adding that not all instant decisions may track, so please don’t worry if you’ve had an instant decision and it hasn’t tracked in, as we can still track this in manually for you."

Thanks, skibster, for the info on the 4 months. Not appearing on my Quidco page.

You do need to raise a claim with Quidco before the 4 months is up, though, if it isn't show in your Activity at all.

No problems with the applications, but nothing about this outfit impresses so far (especially after reading the above). I've NEVER received credit cards and the PINs in the same post on the same day before - that's wide open to fraud and just bad practice.

Cards will be put safely away and probably never used (I wouldn't trust this lot not to mess it up, and anyway, who wants to use a credit card with 'Post Office' all over it :D) - the cashback doesn't seem to be dependent on usage.

Can someone please confirm if the cashback is dependent on the usage / activation of the card (don't think we have to activate the new card)?

    Thanks

I applied for the card in my name through QC and got deferred so my husband applied via the same QC account and was accepted. He got the card and pin nos but still not tracked in over a week now.
