The trial leaves a watermark, but it saves to a folder if you untick burn result to DVD, then you can check the folder size, usually I get two films on a disc with it

Does DVD Flick let you adjust the bitrate?

The Avi file 1.36gb - DVD flick converts & then burns onto disc & then the 'project' disappears from the program! I have searched my PC for the finished file to see how big the file is, but can't locate it - I've thrown that many discs away this weekend trying to fit the movie on them!
The strange thing is, I'ce successfully converted & burned other files, larger than 1.36 avi onto the same discs using the same program without problems??

I meant the length in time. :)

It does-although I just click on the autofit.
I don't mind paying for a program as long as I know it will definately work!

If WinX didn't work, then the trial of Convert X will let you see what the end result size is

A 2 hour file with the bitrate at 5000 should fit on to a disc, if it is just this one file, then maybe keep reducing the bitrate until it has a folder size less than 4.37 GB. If it works well with most other files then may as well keep using it

Seems you must be doing something wrong I can fit nearly 3 movies using DVD flick onto one DVD with a nice looking home made menu too.

In fact this guide will go through it step by step.. http://www.dvdflick.net/guide/guide_new.pdf

It saves me having to do the screen shots.

And your not trying to shrink a VOB file. Your working with an .avi

Thanks, but have read & re-read the guide, have applied their recommended settings, but still missing the last 10 mins of the movie.

Will try some of other suggestions above & will report back when I can

    Thanks all

You must be doing something wrong then or the file size is above what you claim it is. Its very hard to diagnose as i cant replicate the same problem here and ive been trying.

EDIT: are you adding the folder or the file from inside the folder? Have you had any other problems with any other avi files like this?

It may just be a bug with it and if so uninstall it and then download it again. May work it may not
