Using wallpaper to wrap parcels?

Hi, just a quick question for anyone who has tried this. I'm going to be (hopefully!) selling some skirts and other clothes on Ebay. I have some pretty floral left-over wallpaper and as it's quite thick I thought it might make a good (and cheap) substitute for brown parcel paper. With address labels stuck on it won't need writing on.
Has anyone tried this, and if so, do you think it it works well? Or would you say it looks a bit tacky?

It wouldn't bother me, as long as it was wrapped securely:D:D"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I personally do not mind what my parcels arrive in as long as they arrive undamaged. Although I feel sure some buyers would have gripes...LOL
Just a word of warning - make sure it is not ready pasted stuff as if the postie gets caught in the rain then it will make a nice sticky mess over the clothes:rotfl:0 -
As brown paper frequently gets torn in transit, a stronger type of paper might be more suitable. But watch your p&p charges, as people can get funny about you charging for something which obviously wasnt purchased for the purpose. I've heard of people complaining about being charged more than just the postal charge when the seller has used recycled jiffy bags.0

wallpaer is very heavy and not very 'bendable' so may well crack and tear in the post, especially if it gets damp. Personally I wouldn't use wallpaper as I find clothes problematic enough without risking unsuitable packaging.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. put the wallpaper on inside out with the "white" side on the outside and you'll not need an address label either0

My advice is: use lovely bright coloured paper, wrap your clothes directly in it (any lovely white shirt by any chance?) with nothing else..and just wait for a rainy day when your parcel gets soaked.0

Just a tad sarcastic Terra.
A valid point but could have been addressed more tactfully.
Fortunately most wallpapers are colourfast these days. If its vinyl it should be colourfast, waterproof and strong. Dont know how easy it is to fold though.0 -
Is the heat getting to everyone?
Don't use wallpaper. Use polybags. The weight saving alone will pay for the bags.
Wallpaper is a mad idea.0 -

What next wallpaper paste to replace packing tape. Makes as much sense.'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'
