Rock_Cakes wrote: »I went for white gold, seems fine after nearly a year. Though I was told at the jewellers who made my wedding ring you should try and match with the engagement ring as some metals are tougher than others. But this only matters if you will continue to wear your engagement ring (I did/do). My DH has a palladium ring. I would say there are a few scratches on his. Though it is brushed, not sure if that makes a difference.
Hope this helps?
xx
I'm aware you should match the metals as they can wear differently but I have a gorgeous yet awkwardly shaped engagement ring, meaning I think I will wear that on my other hand instead as I think anything else will spoil it's beauty!
Palladium was another option as it's cheaper than platinum but supposedly harder wearing than gold but I wasn't sure - does your OH do a lot of manual work? Just thinking maybe that's why his has scratched more. My OH also wants something with brushed metal. Hmm more research is needed me thinks, but thank you anyway that's very helpful
