Can anyone help me with what I know will be an easy question for many of you.
I have one home pc, and one broadband supplier Virgin Media.
What would I need to do to get wifi, and what costs would be ivolved please. Is it easy to set up?
Thanks very much

            Cable or ADSL?0
 -
ADSL - a wireless router with built in modem and a wireless card in the PC
Cable - a wireless cable router and a wireless card in the PC
costs would be between £20 and £40 tops unless you buy second hand, and it's very easy to set up.0 -
Your supplier may already have given you a router. How do you connect your virgin equipment to your PC?
And what does it look like?
Like this?
Or this?0 -

cable I think - I have a modem with a ethernet lead. It is a cable modem, and looks like the first picture above
I do not have any router0 -
Then you'll need a cable router, can be found in most places; Amazon, Ebuyer, Dabs.
You'll need to check whether your PC has a wireless card or not.
If not you can buy one like this:

Thats the one I have. It works perfectly.0 -
