I partly agree with this but they do have to perform work to keep the thing up to date and pay for bandwith to make it available. Maybe halving the current cost would be more palatable..........well it would to me anyway.

They do give free memebership to anyone spotting and reporting an unlisted camera and that i think is a good incentive.

I have nowt to do with them BTW, but it do use the database its a useful tool.

It is if you go on hols somewhere like Devon or Cornwall.
Last year i spotted about 6 cams in a one week holiday in Cornwall that were not in the database.

If you find one, go to the site, report its location and once its verified you get free life membership.

Yes, you need an active subscription which wil then be extended for 'life'

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but is this database the same one as the one thats pre-installed as the 'safety cam database' on the higher models of Tom Tom?

So, once I've paid gpsworld and download the cameras, its the same? There is no advanced software in Tom Tom that does things differently like audio alerts or something?

Yes it is, but there are several formats for the database depending on the TT model you have.
