A speedo can legally over read not under read.
If as in the example above the speedo stated 70 and you were really travelling at 58, then the speedo is over reading.
I meant overread :P Should have been clear from the context when I describe doing 58mph while the speedo states 70.

Thanks for pointing it out though, I'll go edit the original post.

The worst culprits are the ones who come from the slowest left lane to over take you in the middle lane using the fast lane and only to go back to the slow lane to exit at the nearest exit - What a waste of fuel and definitely a MUG

Maybe if you wern't sat in the middle lane all day this wouldn't be an issue for you?

Eh? What side do we drive on? The left. If the inside lane is clear, you should be in it!

Please tell me you aren't saying you are one of those nuggets that just sits in the middle lane and that you think it is alright!

What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

Give you're in L2 and getting overtaken, I'd hope you were talking about a 3 lane road of some description! If not the person overtaking you is either a complete idiot or they drive a Bowler Wildcat :)

ah hah. Sorry your original post made it sound like you in the middle lane, and you were annoyed at people coming over from the left lane to the outside lane and back again in order to overtake you.

You see a lot of people cruising along in the middle lane, regularly under the limit as well, does my (and a lot of other people's) nut does that!

OP doesn't mention whether he/she had a good reason to be in the outside (overtaking) lane - there are only 2 good ones, overtaking, or turning right. If you're not doing one of these things, you should be on the inside lane.

If only that was the case! Middle lane hogs really get on my nerves

We were test-driving new cars on Saturday and our local dual carriageway was so busy we couldn't see just how fast the cars were capable of going. So inconsiderate. ;)

I'm normally pretty relaxed when driving but I got seriously wound up on the A9 in Scotland. There was a complete tit with P-plates on doing 40mph in a 60. We were stuck behind him for an hour and a half! The A9 has plenty of areas where you can overtake but unfortunately two lorries had got stuck right behind him and didn't have the acceleration to overtake, so everyone else was stuck behind them.

I lost count of the number of laybys we passed that had signs saying "Frustration causes accidents - allow overtaking". Also saw the lorry immediately behind the car flash him/her on several occasions coming up to these laybys to no avail.
