Hya all, a great weekend weather-wise.

Thanks Spoon for setting up the thread, you're a star :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin

Can I go for 15 NSDs this month please, with the hope for a few more if I can. Also will try for 4 in-a-row again. Off on holiday from the 19th, until the 6th August, so not sure how many NSDs I will pick up while I'm away. Staying with family and friends, so may manage a few. :)

I've already picked up a couple this weeked, so have 2 NSDs already. :D Spendy tomorrow and possibly Tuesday....cars off in for a check and service before we head north on holiday.

Been in the garden most of the morning, now watching the tennis on tv, with my laptop on my knees. Will have to get to the ironing board soon...soooo much ironing to do!

Good luck to everyone for July...here's to a very non-spendy month!

I'd like to try for 14 nsds this month please Spoon. I managed 13 last month so it should be do-able with luck and a following wind!

I'm quite happy pottering around at home but I have a very bored teenager who insists on going out for trips which end in tea and cake! I can't say no every time can I?

    Good luck to all,

    Chris

Hello all, and thanks for putting the shiny new July thread up Spoony, you do such a grand job looking after us all :A Can I pledge 14 please for July? I started off June so well I was sure I was going to smash my target but got scuppered by the SD sale at the end of the month (still might pop in and check out what they have but gonna try and keep it to a minimum as I am quite well stocked up now :D) Also have a few plans for the garden so that will require some spends too - nothing too grand, some top soil, bit of tutf and poss a sleeper - hoping the house budget (not counted in the NSD) can stretch to it but not 100% sure yet - need to get a list sorted)

I'm going to do this as NScD ie No Stupid Card Days. So any day I get my card out to make a payment is a Spending Doh!!

That means I can take out some money after payday for the things I have already budgeted for (my weekly fitness class, window cleaner and lawn mowed) and don't count direct debits. I will be counting anything else bought including petrol and groceries.

Loving the idea of the NSCD days, I've been getting a bit too free and easy with mine recently.

Jints - that is a lovely thing to do for your mum, it even bought a wee lump to my throat when I read it. Hope she loved her surprise.

So...looking at the important dates this month - who fanices a trip to the moon in the Tardis?! _party_ Fire up the engines (and afterburners - no not space shuttle style, I mean one of Igor's cocktails) and lets paaaarrrtttyyyy! :D

Yesterday was more of a spendy day than I'd anticipated......

Managed to get some shoes for work (choice being 'take it or leave it' though, given they have to be plain black, no trims to pick up debris in the bakery, and flat - plus fit my slightly wide feet!), but also got persuaded to spend some pennies in the Mr A clothing sale (wore one of the tops I picked up last night, and it appeared to get a big thumbs up), and the M'n'S sale, and also picked up some more (much needed due to a very low cut dress I've recently come into the possession of) underwear. Then I called into a £ store to see if they had a couple of bits I was after (coming out with those and a couple of extras). Final port of call was B00ts as I seem to have misplaced my liquid eyeliner, and again I came out with more than I'd planned - although one of the extras was a free glittery eyeshadow worth £3.99 (due to checking the offers machine before shopping and making sure the eyeliner I got was from a specific range) and I paid for the ear-rings using points (but still had to pay for 3 other extras, which came to enough to get me another decent free gift). But I forgot to check in B00ts for one item I had wanted to try and pick up, so can see me having to find an excuse to get near a large branch again soon unless I can find it significanly cheaper on-line in the meantime :(

Had planned to pick up some hair-straighteners from Arg0s as well (since I coloured my hair on Wednesday, and started wearing it loose other than when on duty at work, a few people have suggested that I might benefit from a set if I'm going out 'somewhere nice'). I'd short-listed to three sets, and asked for opinions of them on another site - which I received, along with a private message from a lady who has a spare - and hardly used - pair which are much better than the ones I was looking at..... and she's offered them to me for free :D

Also got the gammon joint for last night's tea, and a bag of sprouts (how much  ) - though the sprouts were thankfully offset by the fact I'd picked up a cauli from work for just 9p (with the intention of having cauliflower cheese today) before asking my chap what his favourite veg are (cauli and sprouts being the answer). And the new potatoes we had came out of the garden, so not toooooo expensive a meal once I look at the actual spend ;) And he seemed to enjoy it, so it was worth the spend anyway....... he'd just better not think he's getting sprouts on a regular basis at this time of year :rotfl:

We then went out to a pub to meet one of his mates and his mate's wife (lovely lady), but I drove and he bought the drinks so no spending there for me :) From what he said later I get the impression they're very close/special friends of his, so I think being introduced to them was quite a 'big thing' !!!

I also put money for liquid gold to one side..... had planned to fill up yesterday, but there were a fair few cars waiting to do the same and I needed to get home and put the gammon into the slow cooker. Luckily I still had enough for the pub trip last night (whilst still leaving myself enough to get to a petrol station next time I head out anywhere).

But today is safely NSD #1 as the stores are now closed, and I am not going to look at any on-line stores :T

I went for a run this morning (just short of 4 miles, but respectable given it's my first in almost 5 weeks thanks to having had a chest infection), and then mowed most of the back lawn - haven't managed to do the two back corners (or cut back the edges) as the bin for lawn cuttings it totally choc-a-block until it compresses itself down a bit or gets emptied..... and as it's not due to be collected until a week tomorrow I'm hoping it will self compress enough to let me (weather permitting) finish cutting it before then! I've washed the main cover for the smaller couch this afternoon, and that's now outside drying. The main cover for the larger couch is now in the machine (must be close to done by now, so about to go and check the machine), and will be hung outside once done. Then it's onto the cushion covers (4 for each couch, so another two loads), but if I don't manage to get those outside it's not a major issue as they're small enough to be able to hang around the house (unlike the main parts).

Think I may snooze for an hour after I swap loads in the washing machine, as the heat is knocking me for six :(

    Hello
I am new and would like to start with 6 No Spend Days please.
I will count spending as using cash or my card, not stuff that comes out of my account eg direct debits.

    Thanks :)

Blimy Cheryl - I'm pooped just reading your post. Sounds like things are going well wit your chap which is great

Just put out 80l (two bags) of bark that I bought at L1dl last week - finished the front and had just enough for a raised bed thing at the back, though it literally was 'just enough'. Am pondering whether to pick up another bag on Thurs as 20l for £1.99 is good value (it's not necessarily the best bark but does the job) and keep it in the shed for future use... I'd really like to add just a little more to the bed at the back now. Perhaps I'll see if I can get any from Freegle first.

Feet up watching the TV whilst thinking what else we need to do to the garden - ohhh I'm getting all Charlie Dimmock!
