    Morning All

Glorious day here - the sun is shining and it's quite warm for a change. Have washed one of the throws from the settees (stupidly bought cream sofas), DD not allowed anywhere near until it's dry and back on, should be dry for her coming home from work later. Have also hoovered through and the dog has been dropped off. He is a staffy cross (not keen on staffies generally but he is changing my mind!). We have been out for a long walk already but he can't settle as he can see the sheep, rabbits and hens outside! He also went for a swim in the Loch and has an interesting swimming style (think reaching for the sky!).

Going to pop out for a few essentials in a while and then another walk later I think. I have work at 5 this evening so DD can dog sit.

Must also make some sort of biscuits as we were looking for something sweet last night and neither of us would go to the shop as it involved changing out of pjs and driving the 3 miles to the nearest one!

Hugs and positive thoughts to all those in need, have a good weekend. Take care. XX
  • Redruby i wondered when I saw your post last night if your mum had been a bit stressed about your dad. Still no excuse for that level of rudeness. I think she prob takes it out on you because she is prob closest to you as you do most for them. It is hard for you to take though. I hope she comes round as it is not worth falling out over really is it.

Sistercas hope you and DH are ok after the scan.

    Hugs to Lou and JackieG

Not got much to post at the minute, just trying to keep my head above water as far as DS is concerned and trying to get everything in place before school breaks up for hols

    Hi Fluttterbye

Sorry missed your PC question when scan read :o

How old is your current one, what spec?
    Operating system?
Yes, check on ebay re-battery. When you do get a new one or new battery, let it charge up and down, don't leave it powered on all the time.

Mine is a 4 year old Dell, I checked on here and ran the memory scanner, you have to download it and let it run, it tells you if you can improve the memory on your existing one. I couldn't but talking on the MSE Techie forum found out I could increase my Hard Drive up to 500gb. I decided to try this as otherwise it was OK, and it has run like a dream since. You do need the original disks to do this though, and patience as Windows keeps updating you with 100's of updates (Mine is running Vista).

What about this if you really want a new one?

HP & Acer offer very shiny attractive laptops, but if you look here

you will see they lose out on the reliability side.

Maybe wait for the next Aldi offer??

What sort of price are you looking for? Whatever you do, forget any which say Celeron!

Hope it helps - PM me if you want. DG

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • Flutterby my DH repairs and builds PCs and laptops as a hobby (grrr....PC parts everywhere ) and he gets batteries off Ebay so may be worth a look

edited to add....DH has just said Amazon are good too for batteries for them. He says you can get them on either site with several years warranty on them

    Morning All,

It's glorious here. Very late on here today, had a rubbish sleep and consequently a very long lie-in. One load of washing is on the line and nearly dry, 2 more to go on. Will iron it later.

REDRUBY hugs hun, I would let it lie for a bit
LOU take it easy and rest if you can
NPM good to see you posting
    JACKIEG hugs hun

Hugs to anyone one else who needs one. Off to do some baking in a mo, then it's housework, will mow the lawn later when it cools down a bit. Tea is probably HM pizza.

    Have a good day all.

Afternoon all, I am dying. I went out last night, must have fallen over as i cant walk, my knee is KILLING me. Self inflicted though, so deserve no sympathy! Especially as i am about to go and do it all over again (hopefully with no falling this time around) not a very OS or MSE weekend at all.,

Puppy has been very good and slept in with me, we have now moved to the sofa, OH is at work, he went at 8:30 -don't know how he manages it!

Staying at my friends tonight, so the boys wll have to fend for themselves!

hugs to all who want/need them

    Afternoon peeps,

Sistercas, Lou, JackieG and RedR I will be singing and playing at church tomorrow and offer my efforts up to the Big Man for you and your families. My friend is having a mastectomy on Monday so she is included as well. Please God may everything heal for you all.

Just off to start making dinner for the ravenous hordes:)
I don't know where the DGSs put it, I am sure they must have hollow legs.

Lots of hugs to those in need or want,
    Take care y'all, Silver x
