There are numerous agencies who door knock for them,not just one.
Aye,I know.They're the main one over here.I got a job with them but didn't take it as it wasn't;
1-Financially viable (ie no wage unless you sell)
2-Wasn't what was advertised in their ad. It was advertised as a 'call center job'
3-I have too much self respect for myself.0 -
TalkTalk are really bad at this sort of stuff. I had a one there agents knock at the door at begining of this year. Well first thing I was told that talktalk were bring out fttc in my area, did line check and they said I could only get up to 8mb speeds (getting 12mb speeds with my current supplier Plusnet), and I was told that talktalk were taking over plusnet (another lie, which had confirmed by plusnet).0

I raised this subject on the TalkTalk forums on their web site and did not get a satisfactory answer. It was as a result of the following.
About 12 months ago I was cold-called by a supposedly TT rep who was surprised I was already with them. He wanted to know my name and phone number for his records so that he had proof he had made the call. I told him that TT already have it - he could see my address, so he could look it up on their database.
I then noticed he went along the road, knocking on every door.
Some weeks afterwards I was talking to a neighbour and the subject came up in conversation. He told me that he had always been a BT customer and had recently been approached by them as to why he was changing his provider. They told him he was migrating to another company. This was the first he had heard of it!
He too had been visited by the TT cold caller, but had given them more information than I would have done. BT sorted it out for him but it does show that you need to be on your guard.0 -
Hi All,
its dreadful to hear such tales.
For what it's worth I don't believe in our modern society there is any place for door to door sales. Conmen/women of all kinds have proven it to be an unacceptable method.
If anyone knocks on my door to ask about or sell products the door will be closed. I am astounded at the number of people who even open the door to clipboard carrying unsolicited knockers.
I would outlaw it as a practice were I in a position so to do.
