I'm curious as to what your new way is - hope it works out for you. There's something about this thread that gets you excited when you've made progress/come up with a new debt busting plan - whoever thought this would be almost enjoyable!

Me too!! I want to know to see if it can make a difference for me :)

Wish it was something exciting but it isn't really, have recently been saving £329 a month (random amount i know) towards household expenses such as car tax etc etc. But have changed my mind and am gonna throw all this every month at my cc's, think this will have more of an impact, as i catch myself borrowing said money for daft things and it never gets paid back, so really it is wasted money (does that make sense?) i have been doing this since Jan, so for the next year i am gonna just chuck it at the cc's have worked out i will pay 2 of them off by May. And then as i have paid one off, that minimum payment can then get put on top of the £329. So for example for the next three months i will pay the £329 and the £20 min payment off my halicrap cc, then when this is paid off for the next three months i will then pay £349 plus the minimum payment off DH's virgin cc then after that i will pay £369 plus minimum payment off the next one and so on until i am clear in a couple of years. Wonder if thats makes as much sense in real life as it does in my head and spreadsheet.

Thats the theory, if it happens. It is probably what everyone one is doing, but in my little mind i feel like a pioneer in the world of debt busting.

    So there it is.

Dreamingofmoney - It does make sense and it will work better for you I think as if there is an emergency you can use the cleared CC and in the mean time there will be no incurring intrest.

I was just thinking I do the same thing! I keep putting away £100 per month for car tax, mot, insurance etc with the aim of saving £500 in that account to cover car stuff, every time I spend something out of it, I build it back up to £500! But... I keep spending it! I keep 'borrowing' the money and now I'm left with 2 more paydays until my MOT is due :o Perhaps I should do the same... pay it all on the cc and build up an excess on it to pay for that stuff!

Thanks hun... It's like I don't live to be frugal and when I try I try like really hard but I have this illness which can make me a little reckless from time to time with money and when I'm sick I can't cross roads never mind work a spreadsheet  It's no where near as bad as it was but I don't like being judged by ppl cos like I should be living on a lot less in their eyes than what I do :(
    E

That must be really hard for you. It sounds to me like you're doing a great job though, the way you describe all your outgoings etc is very organised :T

People are quick to judge about money, but everyone has some flaws/weaknesses, it's just that a lot of people don't admit them. Personally I'd rather be bad with money than bad with people.

Allie that's a tremondous amount - well done, you :T

I too am a 'borrower' of savings! It's so frustrating. I do have a loan which really sets me back every month. However, I have another financial situation waiting to resolved which will mean I can pay it off. I'm hoping that will be before my next pay day. That's when Pad-ding and saving starts with real sincerity 'cause i've had enough of my headspace being taken over by debt ;)

I actually have savings for e-cig and SOS - cos I buy e-cig stuff in bulk (about every 3 months) so I need to save for it. It can come to £200 a time - easily :). So I try and save £30 a week for that...och and stay off the e-cig forums so I'm not 'tempted' to buy new kit I don't need :D

Anyhow PAD this am (yeah I know it's early - going back to bed in a sec) of £41 to CCF :) (macbook)

    Yay
