  • thanks for the replies..

the thing i dont think i have many moons left ( excuse the pun:D) of having my monthlies as i am of a certain age where the 'hot flushes' and the demise of mother nature giving me her monthly gift so to speak, I might as well make full use of the pads and tampons that are basically going to go in the bin...

another thing i have started doing is buying from the local fruit and veg guy at the weekly village market ( well if you can call 2 veg stalls and a meat van a market...lol...) asked if he had any thing for my chickens and ducks, and i ended up having 3 huge boxes of cabbage/cauli leaves, and some other fruit and veg, which he couldnt sell, but i am in the middle of making good use of them, ;)

right off to make a cuppa, and then we are having chicken sweet n sour, trying to use up the sauces i have in the cupboard, and the chicken we had on sunday, managed to have a sunday dinner, 2 days of chicken and stuffings rolls for lunch for the 4 of us, sweet n sour tonight with rice, and then going to boil the carcass tonight to make stock for potato and leek soup for tomorrow ( guess where the leeks came from:D yep the free boxes of fruit and veg...lol..)

:hello: everyone - hope you've all had a good day :)

Had a busy day at work; not really stopped so it was over really quickly! I do like it when days go fast :D I took my own lunch to work - ham salad and some sunbites - and so didn't spend anything today either!

Erme - nice to see you posting again, hope you're doing okay.

    Hello everyone

Some good news took Marmalade to the vets yesterday for a check up and she has a further reprieve although she has lost a little weight she still has a healthy coat and seems otherwise healthy.

Marmalade the Miracle cat taking her cue from the theme tune of Fame!

I did say she didn't seem well at all on Friday but then by Saturday she had perked right up - the vet said that's how it will be until the good days out way the bad days and then it will be time.

She really is going strong for a cat who was predicted to pop her clogs a few months ago!

A bit of a spendy day for me - treated myself to a few reduced books from Book Warehouse, a couple on green living for 99p and £1.99 respectively and one called 10 10 10 for £3.99 I also had a spot of lunch out after my acupuncture and bought a skirt from Monsoon in the charity shop on the way home.

Got some lamb minced at the butchers, but don't know what I want to make with it... prob be just mince n totties, then make small spag bol in little ramekins and maybe a small lasagna
Made my 1st crimbo present, frosty (the sweets) vodka. Just need to get a few mini bottles to use.

I hate lamb and DH bought some lamb mince by mistake. I had just bought the secret takeaway book and it had a recipe for kebabs and it ended up exactly like the real thing x

Just eaten a very frugal 'left overs' meal. We have a lovely greek friend who turns our garden produce into lovely pies, so we just finished the spinach, feta and courgette filo pie. Nom nom.

I have a mirena coil so no more periods at all - very convenient and I haven't had any negative side effects at all. That said, it did cost me £200 to get fitted but it lasts for 5 years!

We are still living on a very small amount this month - I've surprised myself at how little I've spent tobe honest - will have to keep it up.
Only bad news is that ds2 needs a brace and this will cost a lot of money over the next 2 years - can't not do it though.

Eta, ermr, I'm new here so no nothingof what has happened - could you start again with a clean sheet?

Hi everyone, small spend day- lip balm, bread rolls and coleslaw.

Dinner is curry (chicken oyster cut legs, reduced, 4 for 49p!!!).

Hi Erne, I hope u are keeping well and happy. Thank you for thinking of us with the link.

Risking TMI, I'm on the injection so those pesky things don't bother me!
Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!
  • not a NSD just spent £39 on a boiler check with group on, it needs one and that looks like a reasonable deal to me.
  • Hi all, had another NSD today but I need milk and a few other bits tomorrow. I also plan to go to the library tomorrow after my work-out. I have decided to stick with my fat club monthly bill, I do make full use out of it and I enjoy it and I don't do much else!!
I lost 1 lb tonight when I weighed so I must take a marble out the jar! Only 20 lb to go!
Had leftover stew for tea, yum, always tastes nicer on the 2nd day!
Gien, why did u have to pay for your coil?
My friend uses a moon cup and says it's fab, maybe I will give it a go. Although I want another baby really, hubbie says we can't afford it but I don't think that should stop us and I can beg, steal or borrow everything we would need (we got rid of all baby stuff after no 2 who's now nearly 4) We'll see.....
I wrote out our full budget / spends today, we should be saving a lot more than we are but there's always that unexpected something! MUST TRY HARDER!

Hi, that's the same conversation as happened in our house and I ended up with three in one go - be careful what you wish for;)

Due to above, I don't have too much time to post. Busy but happy!

    I do read though
