i hope everyone is ok with all this wind? i have given up tying some of the tarps down in the garden, and have put them in the shed. logs and the table can just get wet (far cheaper than replacing a blow away/ripped tarp). and we've had the main branch of the pear tree come down :0( i keep looking out the window at the cherry tree wondering quite how much it will bend before snapping!
had a great weekend - an 8.5ish mile walk on sat, added to the 3 days of tree work should have meant i've lost weight.. but no. i'm so disapointed. i spent all day yesterday cleaning and moving/ unpacking boxes. an old friend came to stay over, first time she's ever visited, and she said the place was lovely and homely... right down to the boxes and odd furniture!
i've stirred the freezer contents, to defrost the oldest meat for dinner tomorow, and to make room to freeze some stewed apples. so very many are falling due to all this wind! (and my 83yr old neighbour has confirmed that "they ain't keepers"!Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. Well, I've just been through all my bills, a lot I can't do much about like CT, just changed mortgage, TV license etc. Going to change electricity supplier I think, can save about £12 a month. Also going to look at insurances. We always pay our car insurance off in full, but DH's is due in Nov along with tax and I think it will have to be a monthly DD this year
Stew is smelling lovely, hopefully enough for 2 days. I am going to meal plan for 4 weeks I think, DH is away next week which makes it a lot easier, if I dish up a jacket spud or pasta he always moans he's hungry an hour later!
It is quite windy down here in Devon, my neighbours gate was banging all night, they moved down the road last week so the house is empty, I must go and find some string......Mum to 2 DSs, dog mum, wife full-time worker.

NSD today, just going to look at what is in the fridge that needs using up, not sure if I'll need a veg box this week as I have heaps left! I am thinking stew thoughts, perfect for this weather.
I've lost a bit of weight (see signature)! Lets hope it stays off, if I lose 2lb a week I'd be really happy.0 -
I have just had stew and it was YUMMY!!!
Well done on the weight loss TT :j
NSD today for me too :jMum to 2 DSs, dog mum, wife full-time worker.

Oh my goodness, it is SO windy! There's lots of trees near us, hope they don't get blown down :-/
NSD 7 for me today - being at work means I rarely spend during the week.
teapot - well done on the weight loss :j :jBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Well, I said I was going to WalkWalk from TalkTalk. I tried Pr*mus, who often come up on this site as being cheap and fab and I have to say, their 'award-winning' customer service was TERRIBLE. After 2 unanswered emails and 2 phone calls which added up to over 20 minutes of waiting for someone to pick up, I decided I didn't want them. I've now cancelled that contract and gone back to TalkTalk on a cheaper deal!
Sold my first book on Amazon today, £13 in the kitty.'Whatever you dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin now.' Goethe

New week, new start. I got up at 6:15 to go for a run, far too dark so instead of going back to sleep I did an exercise DVD for 45 mins. Then got everyone else up and ready. Put a beef and ale stew in the slow cooker and found a book to start writing down what I eat. Don't laugh but I am a very visual person so I have put 21 marbles in a glass pot, for every lb I lose I will remove 1 and hopefully it will be empty by christmas. Off to do some work now, Nat x
I'm a "visual" as well - so that would work for me. Also - photos on the fridge door (not necessarily of me personally - but of "normal" figures and errr...ahem...."other" figures).0 -
Actually, come to think of it, that's something for me to be proud of too - I had a NSD. Not that I have a great deal of choice at the moment, but still.
Made a tuna pasta thingummy tonight, pasta and tuna that we got through a projecty thing and a few other bits and pieces we had in. Got beef steak out of the freezer for tomorrow night (been in there a while and not the best bit of steak but was from my mum who got it on reduced and will make a canny beef curry if nothing else I reckon) as well as some cauldron bean burgers that I'll have over the next day or two at lunchtime. On the up

I love reading this thread, as it gets me back on track...especially lately, as i really do need to rein in on the spending, well not so much rein it in, as we dont spend loads, just get back on track with my food shopping etc..
Now do you think this would be taking being frugal a bit too far, or would you do it?
Where i work, we get old handbags etc, which ladies havent emptied out propely, so they still have indivdual sealed packs of their sanatery pads in there... I am going to starting keeping them for myself, as this will save me a few quid a month.... now i do feel as 'should i, shouldnt i' but they are still in their wraps etc... was just wondering would you do something like this, if you were in my position?Work to live= not live to work0
