had a blip while out shopping.......Ribena (my fav) on offer less than half price so I bought 10:eek: Apart from coffee, water and wine it is all I really drink though:o
must make it last must make it last must make it last
Love the sit and wait stance, we had a wrong bed delivered once and rang them as soon as it was unwrapped to tell them. A snotty lady said if we slept on it we would have to keep it:mad: I had no bed as ours went on freecycle and both my husband and I have slipped discs (comedy sketch us both trying to get up in the morning) In the end after billions of phone calls I rang the manager of the showroom and told him we were bringing the whole family down in their pjs and we would be sleeping there as we have no bed to sleep in:rotfl: amazingly we were allowed to sleep in the bed and a replacement (the one we ordered) turned up three days later. The they rang me a month later to say my bed was ready..........good job I am honest (and no room for another bed)
gone off mumbling about my ribena problem........mumble mumble:(0 -

and ditto an electric bill, at 70.00 for a month!! we suspect the previous residents were avid 'growers' as the loft was Very well insulated... but that is surely just rediculous!
i'm trying to not panic, calm down and find an alternative to number to 0845 to SSE... which is Southern Electric Gas, member of Scotish and Southern Electric. SAYNOTO0870.com here i come
I had the same for my gas when I moved in here. I am still not sure that it has been worked out. They sent me a letter eventually to say that they were taking over my supply from another supplier!!??? They cannot enter the premises and cut you off, as its in the name fo the estate agents and not you. If you have a copy of your tenancy agreement, they cannot cut you off.
Keep on at them.
I am trying to sort out the monthly amount they are asking me for. As my bill for the 6 months worked out at £259. That was for the snow, and the bad weather, where the heating was on full time drying out the plaster in the house etc, before we moved in as well, they want me to pay £133 a month so how does that one work out.

I want a new house! But not until I have cropped my apples from this one :-)
I used this recipe - http://www.waitrose.com/home/recipes/recipe_directory/c/crab_apple_jelly.html
It came out really sweet but I'll store it for a month or two and see what happens, it's great 'cos you don't have to peel the apples. I added mixed spice to mine so I have jars of beautiful clear golden jelly with specks of suspended spice in them.mmmmm
I still have loads more apples to use so if you find any other uses please share!0 -
poor Martin he is getting a right slating on FaceBook. NOTW is printing its last edition this weekend and people are still giving him a hard time:(0

Mine is with British G,
thanks for the support. i spent literally an hour on the phone to them trying to figure it out. i had to Open a New account with them even though i've already left them!? they are confident i can sort the electric out and get it lowered (we took regular meter readings since moving so that will help i'm sure), but they've no record of moving Gas account... so am scared i'll get 2 bills even if this threat goes away!
but also a really good job i found a free phone number on SAYNO else i'd be having phone bill issues too.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Me thinks me knows where you went shopping
Spotted it just inside the doors of the store earlier this week, but it's not something I like. I have (however) had to replenish my Vimt0 supplies (only had it in for when my GDs came visiting - so just a small bottle - but it turns out it's a favourite of someone else, so I picked up big bottle at the end of last week!)Cheryl0 -
Martin is getting a roasting on FB and in the discussion boards over his decisions on NOTW. I know people are entitled to their opinions but there does not have to be the name calling. I find it hard to believe people are slating him on his own site!! If what he has done is so wrong why do they not just vote with their feet and don't come on this site any more.
Blinkin eck I am glad some of those people were not around when I made mistakes...they would stone you in broad daylight:eek:0 -

I was going to say that until I read the rest of Cheryl's post ...... it must be on offer everywhere this week!Spotted it just inside the doors of the store earlier this week/QUOTE]
Phew ... Just checked the website and it's the same price as it was where I saw it!:D
I used to love it but I'm sure they've "diluted" the concentrate as I was having to use loads to get it nice & "blackcurranty".
I've now moved onto Blackcurrant high juice from either Mr Al*i or Mr L and find it much better - only £1.20/bottle (full price) and on offer at Mr L for £1 ..... I bought 8!23rdspiral wrote: » i've just had a final demand gas bill threatening them to enter the property and fit a meter!! it's for 141.10  we've already moved supplier so it must be from the previous residents but its a shock... its addressed to our estate agent so i've been popping all letters like this down to them. i guess they havnt done anything and i opened this one just by rote
Hope it gets sorted soon Spiral:grouphug:

Paid in, I was on those fb posts too. Shocking is an understatement. And I commented on the snobbery or elitist attitudes of most of them, claiming that everyone who reads notw is not intelligent. Glad to say, i got a few likes for that post, to show that I'm not the only 'normal' person on fb haha.
Personally I think they should have sold notw, 168 years to end cause a greedy American wants more. And all those now unemployed, its not as if they can walk into another job. Suppose its just another nail in the coffin for Britain n British made. Sad timesLiving Simply, not simply living.Weight Loss - 5b/55lb

Have a couple of friends who are great fans, and these will be greatly appreciated. Isn't it nice to be able to treat a mate, just because they are a mate, for less than half the price of a Costa Coffee!
