Tried reporting a vehicle today for being driven with no insurance. What a nightmare Had to dial 0345 which costs how much on a mobile? After being passed through several switchboards i got passed to the local police. Who then gave me the 3rd degree to who am i and how do i know its uninsured.
Eventually a police car arrived and drove straight past the car and into the Macdonalds drive through.
Uninsured car drives off and seconds later another police car drives in and parks in the spot that vehicle just left.
No wonder crimes going down if thats what it takes to report something. Its just not worth the effort.
Seems you cannot report something anonymously. And they then decide if your report is accurate, Which im sure a quick check on the system will have proved me correct its not insured.
And its now still on the roads being driven.

If it isnt insured, hopefully it will get caught on one of those ANPR cameras."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Did you see the person who drove off in it?“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Not difficult to check nowdays Hammy... if you now where to look!
So did they read and confirm this when searching the details:I am entitled to the insurance information about the vehicle detailed above for one or more of the following reasons: It is either registered/ owned/ insured by me or my employer; I am permitted to drive it; I am an Insurance Broker and acting on behalf of my client.
I understand it is an offence to wrongfully obtain information of this nature without any of the above reasonable causes. If I fail to provide true reasons for acquiring this information I may be committing an offence of unlawfully obtaining data contrary to section 55 of the Data protection Act 1998. I declare that the information provided will not be used for any purposes unrelated to this enquiry.
How is the insurance brokerage business nowadays I wonder?"One thing that is different, and has changed here, is the self-absorption, not just greed. Everybody is in a hurry now and there is a 'the rules don't apply to me' sort of thing." - Bill Bryson0 -

If you class reporting someone who may committing a criminal offence, may be a danger to other road users and who may be costing all law abiding motorists money in increased insurance premiums as snitching, then personally I'm all for it.0
