How is the insurance brokerage business nowadays I wonder?

Well, either it's your neighbour, or you must drive around randomly putting numberplates into askmid.
Err... it wasn't me who made the report?PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

Nice headline, do you work for the Daily Mail?. Reports of suspected uninsured driving are unlikely to result in an immediate response.0 -
No I dont sit in almost empty car parks putting random numbers into askmid. Do you work for the police? lol
Lets just say the car is used for dodgy deeds. But if I divulged all the info they may click it was me. But a random
stop for no insurance which is true would be a lucky find for the police.
Obviously police shows on the TV are not real. It only happens on TV.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Was thinking this was a possibility, perhaps a no insurance charge right now could interfere with something bigger already being looked at?
May also explain the questioning.0 -

After being passed through several switchboards i got passed to the local police. Who then gave me the 3rd degree to who am i and how do i know its uninsured.
As far as I know, generally speaking, just he same as any other callEventually a police car arrived and drove straight past the car and into the Macdonalds drive through.
How do you know that car was responding to your call, or was equipped with ANPR?Uninsured car drives off and seconds later another police car drives in and parks in the spot that vehicle just left.
No wonder crimes going down if thats what it takes to report something. Its just not worth the effort.
Seems you cannot report something anonymously. And they then decide if your report is accurate, Which im sure a quick check on the system will have proved me correct its not insured.
And its now still on the roads being driven.
Maybe you were mistaken about the insurance status of the car?The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
No the questioning started before I gave them the reg number. It was as if i was doing something wrong
by reporting this.
I would understand if i had dialled 999. But thought this was not a life saving emergency. The sooner they
get caught the better but it probably wont save anyones life.
I could have dialled 0800 but would i not have been charged the same on a mobile?
By phoning the local station I thought it would get a decent response as the station is only 2 or 3 miles away.
I was not expecting one police car to drive past it and another to pull into the space it left.
I tried stopping a police vehicle a couple of years back to alert them to an accident scam i had just witnessed
but they failed to stop. Oblivious to me beeping them and swapping lanes all over the place.
Just makes me think why bother. I say fit CCTV to all their vehicles and allow public access.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Or maybe the police have the owner, or driver under, observation and have bigger fish to fry with them. Perhaps a pull for no insurance would put a more important operation at risk. Maybe you ought to be careful about which rocks you turn over. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
