Do people not bother leaving feedback?

I have started an ebay business recently. Sales are around 80 so far in about 6 weeks, however I have so far only received about 40 feedback, even some buyers who are repeat customers have not left feedback, despite the fact that they were obviously happy enough with my products and service to buy again. A few of my first customers have also not left feedback even though the sale was 6 weeks ago! Is this normal? Do people usually take ages to leave feedback?

As a private buyer, I either leave it within a day or two if it's obvious there is not going to be a problem with an item, and I am happy, or at the most a week or two to check it out, by which time I know whether I am happy with an item or not.

I have 100% feedback and 5 stars accross the board, so I'm happy that customers are pleased with my products and service - it's just quite a lot of them don't seem to be leaving any feedback.

As a buyer I don't leave feedback unless the seller has left it for me and obviously I only leave it once I have received my item. Petty perhaps but I think if they can't be bothered then why should I?
If I am selling something I leave feedback as soon as I have been paid as buyer has fulfilled their part of the bargain.
I wouldn't chase feedback as if someone messages me requesting feedback I don't leave it at all as it annoys me.

Lots of people don't leave feedback though, it's just one of those things that gets overlooked I think.

I only get feedback for about 50% of sales. I seem to attract a disproportionate amount for new low feedback ebayers though.

I leave mine in big batches every few months.

I like to buy things mainly on ebay, as soon as i have received the item and checked it over i leave feedback, i sold around 6 items a couple of months ago and only received 2 feedback.

I read somewhere that the average buyer takes two weeks to leave feedback. I would say that I get between 80% - 90% feedback.
I don't leave feedback first as a seller because I like to know that the buyer is happy, but I always leave feedback once it has been left for me.

Same as Jazabelle - I tend to leave it in a big batch once every month or 2. For example I recently left all my feedback for items bought about 4 weeks ago.

I just forget to be honest!

Are you leaving FB for your buyers? If not that could be why, I never leave feedback for a seller unless they leave for me & I leave my buyers FB usually when I post the item now, same day or following the day of payment & say that item's in the post, within the FB.
Something I sold a few weeks ago the guy seems to buy quite a bit but hasn't left any FB in years. No news is good news on the FB front. You'd soon know if someone's unhappy.

I think you may find less being left now that purchase history has been moved to it's own page. I find that now it has I forget about the items I have bought as I no longer automatically see them.

As a seller I leave feedback when the buyer leaves it for me. When they leave it for me I know they have received it - it's like a receipt. Once I know they are happy I leave feedback straight away.

I've never understood this - buyer has fulfilled their part of the bargain as soon as they have paid so surely you should leave feedback straight away? Apart from the fact that you can only leave a positive anyway?
You'd never get feedback from me in that case...
