I think the aldi italian white at £2.99 is great, especially with food - goes down nicely with a creamy pasta dish!

Cimarosa Merlot from Chile is very gluggable plonk. £3.89 at Lidl.

Hunted through the winerack to find something and came across this. At first it tasted much like a kiddies fruit drink, but after a couple of small glasses it's now a rather nice dry Rose

tested a bottle of aldi hope river sparkling merlot from Aldi at £3.29 yesterday. Not bad, intending to buy in bulk for an 18th birthday toast - its only 5.5% alcohol which is low and ideal for my purposes.
