My husband took in three shiny home delivery vouchers. Two were from two separate shops we had delivered and one my granddad delivered. Cashier said she couldn't take them as they had to be three different ones. Thankfully hubby protested and asked to see that in writing and why wasn't that being advertised. she eventually accepted them but said she would get into trouble for it.
Anyone else had trouble with this?

I work for Tesco and the official rule is that you can use 3 vouchers in one go, but they have to be from 3 different items, eg one from tuna, one from coke and one from over £50 shop, and all done in the same transaction. Also that poor checkout girl who is simply following instructions, and actually giving you the correct advice, will probably get into trouble. Her sign in number will be on that till for the time those vouchers were accepted, and she will more than likely be taken to the office and given a warning, thanks to your husbands bullying.

I've looked up the t&c's and i can't see it specifying the vouchers have to be different?

By the way the newbie alert next to you name should probably also read, be nice to existing members!
Appreciate the advice and will no longer tell him to be nicer next time. He wouldn't have put 75 litres in the tank if it had been advertised correctly.

All I can say is that, that is what my store manager told me was the official ruling. In your case the girl was only doing what she had been told. Regardless of what you might think, tesco are really harsh on staff that dont follow the rules re vouchers etc and do discipline them. If your not happy with something you are told ask for a manager and then the checkout girl will not get into trouble

Bottom, are you saying that he should have walked out without paying and walked over to the main store to protest?
Blimey, I remember filling a Jerry can a few weeks ago. I parked in the water and air bay so that as I couldn't fit the van through to a pump. I walked over to the pump, filled up, then walked back to van to put it on the back. The speed the cashier ran out of the kiosk! Made me laugh! She ran over to the van just as I was turning to walk in, purse in hand.
I suppose some people might steal 4 pound of fuel these days? !
Guess they would call the old bill for 75 litres worth!

Dont be so ridiculous. You just ask the girl in the petrol station to call her manager over! Simple isnt it? I can understnad completely why you people hate tesco - Im not mad keen on it either, but why hate the staff? Most of them are people like you who just need the money and have to follow rules. Why do you all find it so amusing to try and make them look stupid?

Whilst you on the thread, maybe you can enlighten me on another Tesco related question. I had one of those stamp savings cards that I mislaid at Xmas. Found it in march. Took it in, once on a thursday, once on a Saturday and once on a Sunday. On neither occasion was the cashier able to redeem, as they didn't know what it was or how to use it? They put there light on, we wait five minutes, then I concede and say I'll use it next time. Guessing that will be Xmas 2011 when staff have been refreshed? Can you only redeem in December?

You can redeem it whenever you like. I cannot understand why the cashiers wouldnt no that, its ridiculous. At our store we have what they call the captains desk behind checkouts, where there should be a manager and/or team leaders. Ask someone there or failing that go to customer service desk.

Well it's in a safe place, let's hope I can find it at Christmas!
