or perhaps "back in the day" shops werent so big, with so many items.
some Small local shops near me have labels on items, but their range isnt very big.
but if you wish to believe your conspiracy... go right ahead.
Ill stick with common sense and an understanding of business retail0 -
I agree. I think it is a cynical and deliberate ploy. Don't most of these ends have plans issued by head office so they are laid out in a specific way (I know they do in M&S cos I worked there) They count on people making assumptions and not checking. That's their job. Our job is to shop smart and not be fooled. Another pet hate is the way they give one item price per 100g and another per Kg. The only possible reason is to try to make it more difficult to compare. It is insulting to our intelligence, who can't multiply by 10!!?luckys_mum wrote: »I tend to think its done to try to con the shopper out of money. Great big offer signs and then the customer thinks everything contained in the offer location is included in the offer deal.
I also kicked up a stink in our local Asda when the manager removed the scales in the fruit and veg because it is not always easy to estimate and I felt they hoped to cash in on us popping in a bit extra to be sure. The scales were returned. Yes, they hate me in the local supermarkets!!!0
