I can't believe you even went to all this effort over £7 when you had no proof of payment in the slightest.

    Are you working?

As I said, if I couldn't get a refund, I'd just keep and repair the skirt.
It may only be £7, but to me it was the principal. I haven't bought myself new clothes since I was pregnant with my son, who is now 13 months old. I'd decided to treat myself for the first time in a long time, finally found something that was comfortable, and it falls apart the first time I wear it!
It really got my back up. The really annoying thing is that I found out the receipt last week and left the skirt and receipt in a bag by my front door. My genius husband, however, pulled the skirt out of the bag and filled the bag with rubbish from outside, then put the bag in the rubbish pile at the end of the block. Helpful.

Also, not that it matters, but no, I don't work. I left my job back in April due to falling pregnant but being really ill with it. My husband works, and we scrape by.

£7 may be disposable to you, but to me, that's a weeks worth of meals for my son, or a months supply of his milk, or a week's worth of nappies, so I figured I can try and get my money back, and failing that, I'd get out the sewing machine and see what I could do.
