No receipt and paid cash. Am I screwed?

Could this be why it "came apart at one of the seams? To small? If so your fault!
.
Not at all. I wanted to exchange it for another one, the same size but not full of holes, but they consistently only had size 8 & 10 after I had purchased.
The skirt was a floaty tiered skirt, and it came apart where the tiers were joined together. I have since found out that it's a common issue with this skirt design.0 -

TBH, they don't even have to do this, it's a very generous offer, one you're not entitled to, take it before they withdraw it altogether due to you being so stubborn, and get on with your life.
They can stuff the £7. If that's all they'll refund me (onto a gift card, not cash) then I'll keep the skirt and repair it myself.0 -

The problem is you can't prove you purchased it, never mind at what price. (You could have stolen it, damaged it and taken it back to get money to feed your out of control drug habit)...I'm joking about the bit in brackets...but do you get my point?0 -

Unbeliveable!

But I'm not losing £7 am I, as I still have the skirt. I'd just do a repair job.
Anyhow, it's a moot point now as I've been offered a fill refund plus my (as you call them) (ahem) expenses.I'm a happy bunny now

Had to fix that! Without a receipt most retailers won't even entertain the idea of a refund so you did well to get one!
To get your 'expenses' too is the icing on the cake, I suspect a customer services manager just wanted to see the back of you. Is it really worth their while argueing over less than £20? Probably not.
Keep the recipt next time! :cool:0 -

I e-mailed customer services with the date & approx time I bought the skirt, plus the other items I had purchased. They found the transaction and apologised that the store didn't do that in the first place.0
