Got A big top Rump roast from Donald Russell in the oven, the family is coming for dinner. roast Beef with all the trimmings.
I was putting my daughters shopping away and cleared last weeks stuff from the fridge , grapes , salads and all sorts went in the bin, But managed to rescue a whole pia de sapo melon ( thats going in the fruit salad) and a bag of broccoli, both in perfect condition.
Might pop up there next week before we go shopping. DD2 tends to go by the dates on the packs with veg and fruit, But I use the old fashioned sniff and feel test
Had a lovely day yesterday DD2 booked a pedicure and a facial for me and DD1 took us for afternoon tea, had a lovely day.
Then I tackled the rest of my ironing mountain, I got to bed at 6 am then slept till noon, just one wee basket of stuff to do, I filled 6 bags for the charity shop, all things I've not worn for a while, and I would probably never wear again. Just all the dusters to wash then thats everything done. Going to tackle my paperwork next week.
Love and hugs to those who need them. xx1st Purse £114.19 Monthly GB:rotfl::j:wave::j:rotfl:

Well another week over and have doe the shopping for the next week been to sainsburies, adsa and lidl and managed to get all i need. Mt GC budget is £187/200 so only £13 till end of month and kids off school aswell so unlikely to come under budget. It was always gunna be a tight limit for 2 adults, 3 kids and 3 hungry cats so i will be pleased if Im around the £240mark. I am sure I could come under budget if I used everything I have up its just then a panic if I have nothing in , STUPID I know I just like the security of being well stocked.
So if I can make it till next weekend without spending then maybe I will be able to manage with just the £13 and as many vouchers as I can get hold off. well time will tell. Hope everyone is going OKNew to comping 11/2/2013

Another NSD today so glad at that, need a loaf of bread tomorrow but OH will be buying it and that is most certainly dangerous, here's hoping he doesn't spend a fortune. For the first time ever I have made a meal plan to take us into the first week in August after a sainbugs delivery on tuesday we should only need fruit, veg, milk, bread, sliced meat and cheese, still no way i'll come under budget but as this was my first month trying at this I am not really surprised. Hugs to all who need them xxTo get to Disneyland Florida 20160

Interesting article in the Observer's Food Monthly magazine today about why food prices will only keep on rising:

:eekDid third big shop of the month yesterday, am now up to £305 off my £400, which if that was for 4 main weeks that'd be fine but I forgot it's a long month. We're camping last weekend of the month so I think I will count my month up until the day before we go and food for that can come from next month which I will budget for a longer month. Or something like that... I keep 'forgetting' that months are longer than 4 weeks... DH isn't paid monthly so I can't do it by pay months like some do...
Price rises again in Tesco... VALUE WIPES 49p  last time I bought them they were 19p. So I didn't buy them, will see if Morrisons still have theirs at 19p or try another Tesco as they seem to change.
Demerera Sugar was £1.78! Must stock up in Lidl next time I go, but had to buy some as we were all out. Value nappies up to £1.99 from £1.49 a few weeks ago... these are BIG jumps...
I think they change the price of value stuff hoping we won't notice and assume it's cheap. Not just Tesco, Morrisons and Asda seem to do it too...
It took me an hour to do the food shop as I was writing down the price of everything next to it on my list, I could have copied from the receipt I suppose... duh! (Though I didn't buy some things because of price rises).
Oh and coffee... OMG! Used up my stockpile bought some yesterday I'm sure it was nearly twice the price of when I last bought it, nearly a fiver for less than half a kilo of ground coffee...
Hope everyone's doing well, sorry for the long post.
Greent very interesting link, thanks for that. I'm now tempted to start huge sugar and chocolate mountains in my garage! Mice would love me...June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Wishing you and your family strength, Mrs Money Penny.
I need to add two small shops to my total, of £4.80 and £3.70, taking us to £78.86/£250. These were a few fresh items [bread, mushrooms etc] and some first-aid box things. [Nothing like having an apparently unstemmable flow of blood pouring from a deep cut in your index finger to make you realise that you don't actually have the dressings that you thought you had, and basic little plasters aren't even slightly going to do the job...Needless to say, I have appropriate supplies in now, and if I could cross my fingers, I'd do so in hope that we never need to use those dressings.]
I haven't done much in terms of proper cooking since the bread-knife accident on Thursday night, but we're almost out of biccies and chocolate, so I'd better get at it again; and, checking the bank accounts this morning, I realised that we actually have less than I expected available until the end of the month, so of necessity, I'll have to come in well under my £250 target. Going on what's in the stockpile, I see pasta, pasta, rice and more pasta in our immediate future. Hey, the 'eternal butternut squash' may even end up in a veg curry :rotfl:
Anyway, NSD yesterday. Likely to be a small spend this afternoon - have to return to the hospital for them to check and re-dress my finger, and there's a big Mr S store where I have to change buses on the way home, so, if it's still open, I will probably pop in there for [pre-sliced!] bread and do a scout for whoopsies. Then, hopefully, next to nothing for the rest of the week.
My best to all, and good luck with staying on track.
