Well I've achieved three things today, two of which were on my list and one that wasn't.

I planned to paint the pink patches in the lounge, paint the skirting and door frames upstairs and touch up the paint in the bedroom. I failed on the last one - I've had enough of paint for a while :o

Instead we have had a toilet roll holder in the bathroom since before Christmas - in a bag - that needs fixing to the wall. Obviously my vain hopes of the OH taking it upon himself to fit it have not worked. I bet he's forgotten that it's there ;) so instead of painting I decided to put this up. Battery on the drill when flat during the process *typical* but fortunately the OH had left the spare battery fully charged :D. I'm extremely impressed with him. In order to return the favour, I'm now charging the flat battery.

I've also managed a *random act of kindness* of a fashion. Well it will seem random to the person on the receiving end. One of the companies that I had forwarded my CV to, in the hope of a job, has responded wanted further details. I mentioned that I am no longer looking but thanked them for their interest and to perhaps consider me in future. I got a response back to see if I just so happened to know any Dutch or Danish speaking accountants.... well it just so happens... I don't know the person very well, just met her once but I forwarded her details on stating that I didn't know if she would be looking for a move.

From her point of view, even if she isn't interested in a new position, I would imagine that she would look at it in the same way that I would - flattered that I was being considered and it would probably put a spring in my step for a day or two :). Well done me!

Right well since it's Friday, and my last Friday off for a while I'm going to crack out a glass of wine. I deserve it after working hard all week IMHO :rotfl::rotfl:

    Thank you Footiemad.

I received a letter through the post yesterday to tell me that my notice pay would be paid into the bank in the next few days :j. No mention of the payment for the time worked and not paid or the holiday pay but its a start.

Using my calculations I have worked out that I should be paid approx £2,900 for unpaid work, holidays and notice pay. This is having reduced the payments to the maximum amounts that the Governmnent will pay and also having taken tax and NI off - hopefully I did it right.

The notice pay came to £400 since £400 is the maximum that they will pay out per week (and since I had only worked for the company for 20 months or so I am only entitled to one weeks notice by law). It's a nice little sum which will keep the bank ticking over for another couple of weeks - especially since I expected the whole payment to take about 6 weeks and at the moment we are on week 2.

I decided to look that hte Flylady thread last night; since the house is quite tidy now and looking nice and clean with all the fresh paint I thought that it would be good to keep on top of it.

Max decided to have diarrheaa this morning in the kitchen which in a funny way was ok since I had already planning on mopping the kitchen and the hallway. This good this was that it got me out of bed and straight on to the cleaning :D

I managed to vacuum the kitchen and hall and mop them along with wiping down all the stairs (now painted and no carpet) this morning before half past 8! Hallway, stairs and lounge are spotless (except just need to vacuum the sofa).

Just want to quickly vacuum the dining room and then downstairs is nice and clean. Fortunately I washed all the pots last night AND put them away so kitchen was and still is spotless :D:D and I've emptied the dishwasher as well!

Need to vacuum upstairs and then spend 15 minutes on each room then can consider the cleaning done for the day.

That will leave this afternoon free to spend some time with DD which will be nice as it's our last day together before I go back to work as she will be at nursery tomorrow. Which works out quite nice as tomorrow I have a day of indulgence planned - no work just reading, crafting, watching films... anything but work :j

Oh, just checked my account and the *notice pay* money has gone in :j:j

I'm now in credit again :D great news!!

Weekend catchup: we were looking forward this weekend, we have talked about getting a caravan in the past and although we have no plans to buy one in the next few years (although we would love one) we decided to visit a place that sells caravans yesterday. Mainly because it was something to do that wouldn't cost us any money and it's literally about 5 miles away so cost of fuel wasn't really a consideration.... we had a great time looking at them all and DD loved it too. We have decided exactly what we want, like a separate shower instead of the ones where the shower is basically part of the bathroom (mainly because with the kids we KNOW that they would just get the whole place soaked, not put toilet rolls away, towels wet... whereas they do ones with separate shower areas which although not huge instead are decent enough AND separate so that it wouldn't be left to either my of OH to wipe down the surfaces afterwards.

They have a great 5 berth one with two sitting areas, one on each end and the bathroom and kitchen in the middle. This is also what we want since some have the bathroom on the end and so if you needed the loo in the night, someone would be disturbed - whoever was sleeping next to the bathroom - so the one in the middle seems better since no one would be disturbed (apart from the dog maybe).

After going we are both really excited now about getting a caravan and are already planning weekends away.

Despite my best laid plans of organising meal for the week I have no idea what to have tonight. On the list it is sweet and sour, but we had rice last night and after my Prima magazine came through the door on Thursday I really fancied the Jerk Chicken to decided to have that on Friday which was also with rice. Now we are not adverse to rice but that would make it three times in four days!

Was just thinking that a curry would be nice but then remembered that you have rice with it ...idiot!

Oh well I best have a think. I won't be pasta as we are having pasta tomorrow... looks like it might be something with chips!

Just checked the post and my Tesco Clubcard vouchers have arrived. £14.50. Then I remembered that when I looked at my account last month I found that I had loads that I hadn't actually used - and I had no idea where the vouchers were.

I meant to order a FHM subscription for the OH but completely forgot, so have just done this using the voucher codes from the website that I don't have a voucher for. Along with this I also thought *blow it* and get a subscription to Good Food magazine as well!

Just got back from the park with DD. On the way we noticed that the paddling pool was open so she said that she wanted a paddle. I took off her sandals and socks and she went in with her dress on. Everything was ok until she fell over.. and was soaked. Still it was warm so I told her that her dress would dry in no time.

She enjoyed herself at the park and on the way back home I treated her to a cake, I bought one for her and one for DS. Bribery really to ensure that she walked all the way back ;). Unfortunately when when we got back I noticed that instead of the chocolate truffle that I'd asked for, they'd given me a rum truffle - obviously she's not having that so I gave her the cornflake cake that we got for DS. DS says that he doesn't like rum !?! WHEN DID HE TRY IT?? So I'm saving it for OH for after dinner. It'll make him happy he LOVES rum :D
