Been a bit absent recently with work. I was in London on Monday and that practically took up the whole day - I was completely shattered by the end of it, not helped by the fact I woke up at 4am convinced I woud oversleep despite having set my alarm!

Getting up and walking the dog just before 5am was a bit of a shock - especially for the dog, he looked really confused :). Also need to remember to take a bottle of water with me next time as on the way back I was dying for a drink but didn't want to take my bag and laptop bag with me to the canteen coach. Ended up feeling a bit faint but just closed my eyes and willed the journey and time onwards... I was ok on the way down as had time to get a tea to take with me so just need the water for on the way back.

I will end up travelling to London once a week so I'll get used to it but it's a bit of a shock to the system having such a long day - getting up at 5am and not getting home until just past 7pm. Fortunately I had prepared dinner on Sunday so it was in the fridge ready for the OH to just pop into the oven when he got back home. I am looking forward to being able to set the slow cooker off when Winter draws in, and getting some nice casseroles and stews going which will be great to look forward to for when I get home.

I know the feeling, I am up around 5am about three times and I dont even have to walk a dog.

Hope you manage to get a good nights sleep and that you are still enjoying your new job. ;)

QOTD It is amazing though how when we start a new job, things that start off so alien very soon become the norm and we very quickly learn strategies for making things easier....good luck with it all, sounds like a great new job x

  • I hate doing that...knowing that have to get up early and you set your alarm to go off but then end up waking up early because your afraid that you just might sleep over and not hear the alarm....then end up been wide awake and can't go back to sleep...no wonder you was tired especially been stuck on a train and not getting in until after 7pm.

Hope that the job is working out okay for you and the tiredness will pass and then routine will set in and it will become the norm before too long. :)
