You cannot buy a pirate dvd from CDWOW.
Slight difference.
You do know that Homebrew isn't illegal, don't you? The whole point behind changing the firmware on a PSP is to allow people to use homebrew - programs that have been written by people and freely distributed for others to use. Sony's firmware does not allow people to use homebrew, even though it's perfectly legal. I'm not talking about pirate games here. Go look up Homebrew on Wiki.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Actually I think you are you are legally allowed to change you dvd region BUT this will invalidate your warranty. Two very different things. Buying other region DVD's also are legal for personal use.
This also of course applies to changing the firmware to do this/remote tricks/etc..., any thing that changes the internal hardware/software of the device will invalidate your warranty, but is not illegal as it your property.
So by doing a firmw change of the psp no laws are being broken, unless of course you play "backups", the less said about that the better.
Homebrew in itself is not illegal. Sony cannot dictate what you do to YOUR property. There are of course a huge amount of homebrew applications to make the PSP better and add functionality., games created by home developers, etc.
Then again I'm not a lawyer so don't quote me lol.
Actually you maybe breaking the law by flashing with a modified version of sonys firmware (i.e oea-b based on the 1.5/2.71 core), which is actually their intellectual property that has been changed slightly . But who cares, eh? Oh yeah sony :rolleyes:I always tell the truth. Even when I lie.0 -

Thats the guide to follow if you end up with a 2.71FW TA-082 PSP.0 -
Yaaaay!:j
Its just arrived from Viking! Correctly invoiced at £111.85 (checked my account too).
Most importantly its a PSP-1004 and firmware is v2.71 so its downgradeable
Wish me luck on the downgrade LOL!
PS: Need to purchase a memory stick first.0 -

Lets get one thing straight .. I have no problem with people doing whatever they like with their PSP and being totally honest I have played "backup" games since the days of the Commodore 64/spectrum.
I have also downloaded dvds for many many years.
I know what homebrew is and I also know (as do you) that probably 99.9% of people that flash the console are not going to play some emulator of a machine that was made 20 years ago .. they are doing it to play copied PSP games .. hence the need of 2 gig or larger Memory stick .. and don't say they are going to watch films .. if they did then said film will probably be downloaded anyway.
Go to any PSP board and you will not see one person moaning that they cannot get the latest homebrew application going .. more like how do you start the latest Tekken game.
You and I both know that you are playing backup games on it so why not stand up and be counted rather than sit in the corner making "homebrew" excuses.
What I do object to though is people that try to justify what they do by dressing it up as something else entirely
Now .. wheres my console Viking ....0 -
