Getting rid of Java makes no difference for general web use, as it's a different thing altogether to Javascript. I just avoid any programs that use Java. I mean you can even use Libreoffice without Java, just misses a few features.
Definitely know what you mean about Firefox being too mainstream, but there's not a lot of good browsers that don't just have one of the main engines underneath such as Gecko, Trident, Webkit, etc0 -

We get updates any time between Monday-Friday, but even the biggest updates only take a few mins to install...
You only need to reboot when the "Kernel" is updated (which I did today) All other updates don't need a reboot to install!Laters

I'd like to uninstall Java, it's just that I don't know whether programs I have use it or not. I have Open Office, a few games, nothing unusual really...0 -
