The nice girl from the Internet complaints department agreed that £39 for a Nintendo DS was a great price, that's why she'd bought one herself. At least we know some people got these, but unfortunately it looks like none of them were customers! = Quote from biglugs
So staff are not customers? Their money is as good as anyone else's;)DMP starts June 2012, £38,180.

I got my order delivered today, but there was still items missing, when i rang i got told they were out of stock. God only knows why.
Was 3rd time i have phoned, so phoneline supervisor said she will send me some gift vouchers as a goodwill gesture as ive had so many items cancelled from my order. Also getting my £7 p&p refunded. Am still confused as to why i got charged double for one order though!
Think i wont bother next christmas day!0 -
oasisfeverish wrote:M&S are only having their sale for one week this year. Any stock that is left over goes to their Outlet / Clearance Stores at further reductions. Then if still remaining get sold off to wholesalers as Overstock and will then probably end up on eBay.
Over the next three nights all stores are putting out their new ranges. Staff are working from 9pm to 6am organising the shelving, stock, layouts, etc.
so iis the sale over now? was going today?

no, there's probably quite a few stores that havent taken all sale off the floor just yet. Sale stock on the salesfloor's been reduced massively to make way for the launch of the new spring lines, but theres still quite a bit there. Lots of homeware things like towels and such are down to one pound now, best bet is to be the first in store in the morning, as some sale stock is still coming through from the warehouse in drips and drabs, but the real bargains go pretty much as soon as the store opens. after all, one pound for a bale of towels - who's going to care if they have snowflakes on them?!0

They are NOT customers if they are allowed to pre-order or reserve sale items instore before they become available to the public.
Although many businesses use the sales as a means of clearing out old or redundant stock they also use them as a revenue generating tool, to generate some cross-sales with non-sale items, and to improve customer relations. If businesses run a sale in a way that generates bad customer relations, while reducing the amount genuine customers spend then that is bad for business.
M&S needs to decide what the purpose of its sale is - improving the business long-term, or keeping staff members happy in the short-term.You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
Did anyone actually manage to get a lappy in the sale?Hopeless by name, hopeless by nature.0
