Just received this email from M&S:
    Dear Customer
    Thanks for your recent order
I'm sorry to tell you that there may be an item or items not included
in your parcel, this is due to the lack of stock of the requested
    product.
A refund will automatically be generated to your account within the
next few days.If you have any questions about this order please feel free
to call us on 0845 609 0200. If you are calling from overseas please
    call us on +44 151 906 7902.
Thanks for shopping with Marks & Spencer Online.
    Kind Regards
    Customer Care
    Marks & Spencer
What they mean is - thanks for your order. We've been sitting on the cash since Saturday when we took it off your credit card, and we'll be sending it back to you later. Please feel free to logon and order some more expensive stuff so we can sit on the cash for that as well.
I don't mind too much about having my order cancelled, but them having a system which does not keep real-time stock control yet charges you immediately for something they don't have is bloody annoying. I shall have to write to Stuart and complain about their appalling service.
You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.

At least you got an email:cry:
This is the 2nd time they have cancelled my order, and no phone call or email, yet my cc was charged for the full amount on the 27th. This is really putting me off ordering from them again.

Just got off the phone to M&S - 15 minutes of speaking to three different complaint departments. Apparently this is how things work at M&S. They post stuff on the web, take your order, take your money, and if they don't have it in the warehouse they refund your money later.
The nice girl from the Internet complaints department agreed that £39 for a Nintendo DS was a great price, that's why she'd bought one herself. At least we know some people got these, but unfortunately it looks like none of them were customers!
The upshot is that my credit card has been charged, and if I don't clear the full balance of my card each month I will have to pay interest for the privilege of giving M&S my money to invest for a week and a half. B****RDS
I shall have to inform Stuart that in future I will be buying my suits, shirts, shoes, ties, cufflinks, etc. from Next and my food from Tesco Finest.
This company needs to relearn the meaning of "customer service".

M&S website is saying the sale is over.

If you put "sale" in the search box there is some stuff left.

What did they do with what was left over - has it been put in the stores?

M&S are only having their sale for one week this year. Any stock that is left over goes to their Outlet / Clearance Stores at further reductions. Then if still remaining get sold off to wholesalers as Overstock and will then probably end up on eBay.

Over the next three nights all stores are putting out their new ranges. Staff are working from 9pm to 6am organising the shelving, stock, layouts, etc.

Everything in life is a paradox. The more you want approval, the more you become a person that other people don't want to approve of, the less you care about whether you get approval, the more you get.:A

Yes all mines gone as well. In a sick way I'm quite relieved, at least I won't be spending that extra £140!
