What? One of the most interesting threads on this sub-forum. Beats all the threads about broken £15 hairdryers bought on ebay or second-hand mobile phones lost in the post. It is a £20,000 teapot and has some aspects about it that would not look out of place in a Frederick Forsyth novel.

As in being a work of fiction?
I can't believe that anyone would be this, um, um, foolish.

'If someone else had some experience on this'

Of course, when I sold my teapot and it fetched £20,000 I met them outside Fenchurch Street and it went fine, I mean, I was a bit worried at first, that they might make off with it or something but no, they paid me in cash and waited while I counted all the money. They even gave me a briefcase so it would not look too inconspicuous.......

Come on. I think you need to get a grip now. If you are worried about them getting the box, get it put away in a safe place that they cannot find it. If you go to the tube station you are going to have it nicked and you'll end up with nothing. You have already posted enough links yourself to know they are not going to pay for it so why are you still going on about it. You say in one breath that these pots are selling for millions and then the next thing you are posting links to say that the buyers do not pay. I think you need to get a grip personally.

Also you said you was shocked that it sold for so much money but someone had told you that it was pretty special so you knew what it was going to sell for. You need to accept that you either are stuck with it, or are going to go to a tube station and get it nicked from you and you'll be left crying over it.

And you know what, even if they did give you the cash, what the hell are you going to do with all those $$? Take them to the Foreigh Exchange counter at the bank? You'll be arrested for money laundering and you won't even be able to bank it into your bank because they'll be wanted to know where all of that 'loose change' has come from.

You clearly are not interested in taking to an auction house which means that you have been and they have told you that you cannot sell it. Or that you know it is nicked and cannot sell it there. Either way, you know the item you have is dodgy and you thought you could shift it on eBay.com instead of UK and now possible criminals have got your home address and know you have a chinese teapot there. I cannot even believe that you think the buyers name and address are legitimate either. And your barrister friends does not sound much good because he has not even told you that it is probably a false name and address either.

The OP has made this piece of fiction so complicated that they are now tripping over themselves. They have now played the Ill health card which is the nail in the coffin for this little story. Not bad OP but could do better. Next time try and keep it simpler. The simple ones last longer
The recent days have genuinely left us completely shaken, and at the moment we don't need the stress, due to serious family ill health etc. It is not amusing at the moment. I wished also we took advice earlier

Like the 'dead dog' and the 'new owners are camping on my drive' ones. Hilarious. And probably still going!!

    $20,100 = £12,546?

It's not unreasonable for an overseas visitor not to want to travel 70 miles outside of central London if they are unfamiliar with the transport. Why not arrange to meet at their hotel, assuming that they will cover travel expenses?

Makes sense. If I went to China, I would prefer going to a well know tourist location in a big city rather than 70 miles away out in the country with £20,000 to hand over.
