    Savings Total so far for 2026: £0/£10,000
  • I ditched the credit cards this year to become debt free. Thats another 2000 to add to the total.

    so that should make it

    £385,759.46

  • Well done everyone - I think this thread will inspire any newbies who might join the site in the New Year - lots of people get their lightbulb moment around the time of New Year resolutions. Although I don't have any big debts apart from mortgage (!) I do find the DFW community very positive - you are all so supportive. AGAIN - WELL DONE & MERRY CHRISTMAS ONE & ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!

    At the beginning of the year i had £9680 debt

    Now i have around £3500 so i have managed to pay off £6180 !!! :j . Partly due to the sale of my old car (settled the finance).
    So that takes our running total to

    398219.39
    Current Debt : £3900 going up! damn washing machine!
    Mortgage savings: £0
    Budgeting from now on so watch this space!

    First Direct : £217.50 letter sent 12/12/06 FULL SETTLEMENT 18/12/06 :beer:
    Barclays : £260 Letter sent 29/12/06 settled for £130 17/1/06:beer:
    Proud to be dealing with my debts!
