Apologies if this is not in the right place. 1 st thread I have started.

I am looking for a Saturday car boot sale. Possibly in Leeds. I currently go up to Bedale and it's a trek.

Google suggests one in Bramhope but I can find no real details (times etc and everything posted is from 2010).

Does anyone know a big busy Saturday car boot in Leeds/York?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks. I just read its reviews on it's website and it seems to be pitching itself more as an antiques market? My stuff may be old but not antique! Does it have just general get rid of stuff sellers?

Hello pleasedelete, we go to Bedale too so have probably met!

I've been told York is very good but I've never done it, as we're based in Darlington it's a bit far down but I reckon you should give it a go then report back! ;)

I used to live in northallerton and so bedale was handy- now it's a bit of a trek.

I have been going to Bedale -gosh probably 15 years. I like it because it's friendly- no- one tries to climb into your car and most people don't haggle endlessly for silly prices (all of which annoys me at the Sunday one near me).

Last month at local one it was about 11am and I turned round and a guy was literally climbed inside the back of my car ( I hadn't got all the stuff out as it was dubious weather) .

I refuse to sell to rude people. They get very perplexed!

A man who had told me 3 times an item was rubbish and overpriced and offered 20 p ( it was a new £1 metal slotted spoon- circulon which are £8) finally came back with his £1 and I said no- as it was rubbish I couldn't possibly take his money and rip him off.

York is a very mixed bag, there's a lot of antiques and collectables but there's also plenty of locals selling off their normal boot stuff for their holidays.
I'm based in Darlington too and I go to Sedgefield, Bedale, Redcar etc etc and York is by far the best. There's more buyers turn up at York than the other three I've mentioned put together

Rufforth in York is great thats where i go a lot.

they have indoor and outdoor, best time to go is now when its nice and warm.

and it always seems to be full with buyers and seller.

i think the pitch fee is about £8 but i always think its worth it.

as always though there are those vultures that circle your car before you have even undone your seatbelt!!

    hope that helps
