I hate decluttering. I REALLY DO.
And as God is my Witness I am going to be organised. (to miss quote Scarlet O Hara)
It makes me unhappy to have this much !!!!.
It is mostly paper, endless piles of paper and furniture that doesn't fit in the right places, I terrified the Guinea Pigs with the hoover which finally gave up the ghost and started to make a horrible burning smell. And I hate radiators they are religiously in the wrong place.
The rescue I got in touch with for my spare cages is being a bit slow on the organising front so I am still stuck with a pile of cages in my shed which is flipping annoying. I need to move stuff from the conservatory to the shed. although to be honest I would happily get shot of it.
and worst of all I am going to back to work on Monday.
I have seriously annoyed myself this holiday. I do wonder if I will ever change. I had a good chat with my friend - from last night about how really we are both quite unhappy and the reality is both of us have made choices that have lead us here, these are the results. I won't let it go and do something different because I am in some ways a perfectionist - mostly the kind of perfectionist who never starts something cos it won't be perfect or its not the right time etc. I am slowly realising there is never a right time really but more of that in a sec, he is the same although he does it to prove stuff - to himself and other people.
I want to move out but I want to leave with the house in a decent state, that takes time and money, I never have time although now I do have some money. I want to move to my own house, I also want to get my job "right", although I am feeling better about that. Its weird. the one thing I would say about this debt free lark, it is a long journey and not just the getting out of debt. We have all spent money we didn't have for differnet reasons. I never did buy expensive bags shoes or clothes, i spent money on books, going out, cabs and other people(loads on Christmas!and birthdays) And now I am here, owing nothing to anyone. My possibilities are endless but I have a feeling I will do the same for another year and that is ok. I think I still have lessons to learn. things I need to finish.
And I need to get sorted with the deposit. The bank didn't have any appointments for a Mortgage but I can go in in a couple of Saturdays and see someone.
I really need to start thinking of the deposit money as a debt. I owe myself 15,000 pounds. I should get back into that mindset of everything towards the debt.
hmmm. things to think about. ways to make money. 14,000 pounds.

Hi Shoe gal how is the silmfast?
I am here mainly to vent!
Mum is properly driving me nuts. She doesn't mean to obviously but I trying to finish the big clean out and like I said yesterday the furniture hasn't fitted the way I thought it would but have now worked out a way to get it all to fit however this involves ................moving furniture and trying to clear enoug space in my room to get the bed turned round. I have had to bring more stuff to the dreaded conservatory which isn't great I know but she is oh you know what I can't explain, it all sounds petty and ridiculous. lets just say I wish she would go out and actually I wish I had never started this. WISH WISH WISH
I could cry with frustation. I really really could.Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
hi Buffy, I'm just popping in from lurkdom, I normally read but don't post (so many diaries to follow!)
I really feel for you on the living at home/clutter front and wanting to change your life but not being sure where to start. Your post after you came back from holiday was so positive and full of beans, I wonder if you have had a bit of the post-holiday comedown
as well as everything else!
I have been reading a couple of things the last few days which may help/offer some different perspective, hope you don't mind me posting them
I am in the midst of a massive de-clutter at the moment, I have no excuse, it's my house and only me that lives here! It has just accumulated over a long time and has been through 2 broken relationships - but definitely time to act.
Firstly - I googled clear clutter and found various things but this was a gem - a decluttering company's blog about a specific client who had a lot to do for various reasons. It's about their journey through it all together, and I thought the approach is really interesting so will hopefully help me.

Also - found via another blog that I read regularly - a random link to getting organised in style. I love colour and being creative, but am never sure how to actually apply it to being tidy, so this was really fascinating and has inspired me!

Good luck with everything! :j keep at it little by little and I'm sure we will both get there

Thanks for the links Lionhearted girl xxx they made for some good reading.
I am bored titty bored BORED with decluttering. My long suffering mother is tolerating having a sick guinea pig - well recovering from op in the front room cos my spaces are in chaos. Forget can't have anyone over, we are at the point of CANNOT LIVE IN IT ANY MORE.
I am even boring myslef writing this, the only way over this is through it and it to resolve absolutely to NEVER keep things particularly school work and stuff to do with pets useless I can come up with 3 good reasons to keep them.
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

The scores on the doors so far,
7 bags of rubbish
4 bags to Charity
Conservatory STILL looks like a place where paper goes to die!
it is 9.30 M and Co are having a 25% off promotion today and I really wanted to go.
So I guess I had better get a move on.
quick list for after shopping.
1. put up desk
2. clean out Gps
3. move bookshelf (I have changed my mind so many times about this one piece of furniture it is ridiculous!)
4. Tidy and sort of rearrange annoying cupboard
5. Seriously consider giving away some of the MILLIONS of self help books.
6. sit on bum in Conservatory till all the paper is gone. Gulp.
