Tesco Damage

Ive done this before and the same thing happened to me.
Difference is i accepted it was my fault as the pump was stationary at the time. Had the pump being moving at the time things may well have been different ie a driving ban for loosing my mind!!!!

So you'd rather that you drove straight into the pump, potentially damaging it and allowing an extremely flammable liquid to leak... really?
You want there to be a sign? :rotfl:
I suppose this is the sort of complaint that has caused coffee cups to say 'Caution: contents might be hot' and on Peanuts 'Warning, contains nuts'

OP - I can't see how you could have a claim against Tesaco - you drove into the pump base (even if you just 'scuffed it'), and the result was a punctured tyre. Claiming that the metal edging of the pump base was to blame for the puncture really isn't relevant."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

26 years of driving or not. You still drove into a stationary object. If there were signs for very little thing, there wouldn't be room for cars on the bloody road.I try to help as much as I can. But I'm also honest and speak my mind.

What i can't understand is how much difference would a sign make? if people aren't capable of driving around a large petrol pump what chance have they got of reading the sign if there is one, or is it so the petrol station staff have something point at when someone does hit the pump and shred their tyre.0

Funny remarks and questions re. the OP's driving skills aside for a moment: Is there really a need for the protective surround being designed with sharp corners / edges?
While I don't think the OP has any claim, there must be a better way of designing these things.0 -
Oh dear, the OP said that they drove in to a pump.
Good thing they did not leave their details on this site as they have just admitted to driving without due care and attention.
Even if not on a public highway, motoring laws still apply to places where the public have access to!
The OP should think themselves luck that Tesco didnot call the police and ask them to prosecute!

On a serious note:- if the pump surround she hit is exactly the same as all the others on the forecourt she has no claim. If however, someone had previously hit and damaged it, causing deformed metal to stick out, she may just have a claim.0

Honest question. If there had been a sign up, would you have avoided hitting the pumps? I really don't see what difference the sign makes, you clearly weren't aiming to hit it.0
