Tesco Damage

I went into my local tesco garage and scraped the pump, immediately my tyre deflated, as the pump base ripped an inch hole in the tyre wall. On complaining I was told this was how the pumps are designed. Further complaints have been stonewalled, it was my fault for being a rubbish driver basically!!
Surely there is an obligation for tesco to warn drivers that their pumps bite back?
If so then am I entitiled to have my tyre paid for?

Pardon me but am I reading your post right?
You hit a stationary object (the pump) and complained?
This has GOT to be a wind upYou have been reading.....another magnificent post by garethgas :beer:0 -
Is this a joke?!!
You're lucky they didn't get your insurance details and make a claim against you!!It's only a bargain if you need it.0 -
Well, the pump was stationary, but it had a metal surround which ripped the hole in my tyre. That is what I am complaining about. I did not 'hit' the pump I scuffed the surround.0

If you hit a stationary object it's always your fault.0

I have driven for 26 years with out an accident so please do not make judgements about my driving.
You guys must really have dull lives to spend time looking up a post I made in 2008!!
So to reiterate the tesco pump surround had sharp metal surrounding it, I scuffed it, and it ripped a hole in my tyre, irrespective of whether it was stationary, it was designed to make holes in tyres!
That I think should require a warning notice?0 -
Your fault you should be looking where your going, why did you not leave a gap between you and the pump,0

It would have been great if someone actually read the post instead of all competing to be 'funny'.
Despite your dubious sense of humour, Tesco actually have a specific form for my complaint, so I guess I am not the only one to have had this problem with their pumps.0 -
