Migraine still lurking, but have sorted the laundry, including taking down all the upstairs curtains, fabric blinds and muslins. I'm washing the ones with labels and the others are airing on the line. I'm considering dropping some off at the cleaners when I head off on holiday.

Having had a relatively spider-free year so far this year I found a huge mutant one last night just before I went to bed. This MAY be the reason for the manic curtain cleaning today, as I'm sure that's one of the places they lurk. I'm going to risk washing the ancient velvet door curtain, but I'm not sure what to do about the other one - crewel work fabric from John Lewis backed with calico (yes, I did wash and shrink the calico!). the sitting room curtains are interlined crewelwork, so I only ever hoover them. As they're homemade and have no label, I can't get them cleaned :(

    Good morning :D

I made sure my alarm was off as I didn't need to get up this morning :j The school I pick up from is closed, but the 2 boys I have aren't coming as their mums have made other arrangements :j:j DS hasn't got school either. DD1 is off to see her ex-boyfriend in Nottingham for the wekend (strange arrangement that seems to suit him more than her, but ho-hum, you can't tell 'em , can you) DD2 has her prom tonight :D so she is strssing big time. It would have helped if big sis wasn't going away, 'cos I am rubbish at make-up!!

DH is in Cardiff - again :( So far this week he has been home for 1 night (in Scotland from Sun-Tues - was his birthday Mon!). When i went to bed I realised his suit was hanging up  so he has to attend his meetings in jeans :p He has a difficult day today. He works for a well known Bank that has announced 15000 job losses today. They get the finer details at 10 am, while he is in an office that he said would 'look smug' :( The bank was doing ok until they were encouraged to take over another bank by the government, and now it is being run by the people that ran that other bank into the ground to the verge of collapse! Where is the sense in that?! Whatever happens, we will find the positives though :)

I need to have breakfast, walk the dog and then start to curl DD2's hair  She has Sooo much hair!!! I will try to put some washing on in between and maybe tackle the bathroom. I could have got so much done today!!
Hugs and spoons to those that need them, esp Pigpen, Missus (speak to the police!!) and Seafarers (quality time for you and DH)Catch you later peeps :D

PS I run round filling bins on bin day, not the day before!! (and they collect food & recycling at 8am)

I have to go to work today despite the fact the school is closed - we are having a meeting - still should be nice and peaceful!

Said meeting is about management of behaviour in school - it's really for the newer MSA's who don't seem to have a clue;););):silenced::silenced::silenced:....

DD2 not impressed that Yr 12 are in - she has yet to find out if any of her teachers are striking.

Neighbour is a teacher but in the wrong union - last night he was packing parts of a beehive into his car - his project for today at school!

got a bit of a sore throat which is a pain - I'm booked to go on a trip to a kiddies theme park near Retford on monday - seems an awful long way to take Yr1/2....... I can't remember the name of it - have any flyladies been?

Ordered some size 14 jeans from Evans yesterday .....I won't be able to get into them yet but they'll be an incentive.... I have ordered another pair of size 16s - they are fitting quite nicely - and the size 18 pair will soon have to be abandoned as they are just too big - i have to wear them with a belt...

anyway little sis may be appearing at the weekend so better go - lots of ironing done, lots to do and house is still in CHAOS ( can't have anyone over syndrome)

    Catch you later..

Well yesterday was RUBBISH . Found out I was over budget for the month and just got really depressed, ended up having a row with OH in the evening too. I did manage to keep up with all dailies except swish and swipe of bathroom sink and laundry.

Today I am still feeling really down, so I am aiming for the following:

Keep downstairs clean and tidy, mop kitchen and vacuum lounge.

Swish and swipe loo and bathroom sink.

Do 2 loads of laundry, including bedding.

Spend 15 minutes on paperwork and chores like that.

Very short and sweet...better than being really depressed and doing nothing.

Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

I think I might be indulging in displacement activity...

1 pair of curtains bagged up to go to the cleaners...
Spare room curtains on the line (I'm hoping that they'll dry OK and won't need ironing...)
All muslin curtains plus spare room blind in WM
    Sitting room blind still airing...
    Some strimming done
Mowing put off until after the washing is off the line (could be some time!)

Does anyone think that I might possibly be avoiding writing my presentations? :o

embb - Thanks, I'm feeling a bit better today and have managed to fly. May have a nap this afters or chill in front of TV though. ;)

So far: Tidied LR & Hall
WM x 1 (it's pouring down so I guess it's the TD for that load)
Waved goodbye to 3.5 bin bags of clothes and shoes to Kash4Klothes and a carrier bag full to a Freecycler

Darn, now have to go and get DS as he's woken from his nap. Wonder if he'll watch me unload the DW?
