Ask them what all this crap is about then - especially 3rd from bottom:-

    http://pages.ebay.com/services/forum/sellerprotection.html

Its now very easy to knock off compeititors on Ebay. You will be expected to offer lower/free delivery to get your rating back up = more money for Ebay in final value fees.

I assume you know how to pin the DSR down to this one individual - although it won't do you any good - as its against ebay policy to use the info and contact the buyer.

Maybe i should start leaving EVERYONE low DSR's. After all - every time i leave everyone 5 stars - i'm knocking myself down the search listings.

Thanks, Im going to ring agin now and quote that to them, as I have no negative feedback, actually I dont know how to identify who left it officially- how do you do it.

    Thanks

I love this bit, I know it's different to OP's problem but it did make me chuckle

We provide enhanced Feedback protection for unpaid items
In addition to removing Feedback left by buyers who don't respond to an unpaid item report, we also remove negative and neutral Feedback when there is a response but it's clear that the buyer didn't intend to complete the transaction (for example, if they bought the item elsewhere or had a family emergency).

Even ebay have seen through all the sudden bereavements that happen almost as soon as some people win an item.
Next they'll put in or your 2 year old child or elderly dog placed the bid without reading all the t&c's.

Same here - never had a neg but i'm below standard and threatened with restrictions - just cos i took ebay and paypals advice and started sending recorded delivery.

Not been scammed since - but being punished for using recorded. Only on Ebay, can someone happily agree to trade with you - and then say your a bad seller afterwards, for charging the agreed postage they were aware of before bidding.

Goto seller dashboard and down the LEFT hand side in reports and service tools it says Detailed seller ratings reports << clicky.

Click create report and choose the item number option at the top. Choose 10 item numbers where you are confident of high DSR's. Run report and note the scores.

Now do the report again - adding the item number you suspect - and your new score will tell you if they did the damage.

You can't really unless you sell across a number of specialities and countries and can narrow down, using the seller reports, as to which feedback was left in which category and from which country on a certain day.

If you sell items in the same category and mainly to one country it is unlikely you can be 100% sure who left the stars.

Anecdotally if you use recorded on low cost items you seem more likely to attract poor stars, one of our regulars on here has posted a couple of times about how he /she is already nearing restricted listings purely because of the stars being affected by covering themselves by using recorded.

Thanks, most of my items are around the £30 mark, so I feel recorded is justified and I don't get low dsr's I have 2 previous ones in 900 transactions.

Just spoke to them again, he did actually look into and let it slip it was who I thought it was and he had left 2 low dsr's- but even with a positive feedback he has not broken any ebay policies therefore no action can be taken.

They couldn't care less basically, as long as the fees are rolling in.

    Thanks everyone

I had 3 low DSRs for P&P (charging only the actual postage cost) in one week in January from buyers who left some of the most enthusiastic positive FB I've ever had. I had 3 contradictory responses from 3 contacts with ebay (phone and email) and they did nothing, despite being told that if I could verify the postage cost (which of course I could, with COP)they would deal with something that was 'clearly unfair'.

Yes this has caused me to loose TRS status - that is my thought as well, but obviously not ebay's. I am goind to ring again tomorrow and ask to speak to a manager and insist I send a copy of my postage receipt and tracking number showing it was delivered within 24 hours and I want him to say that yes that justifies a 1 or 2 star.

As a small seller if I get 3 low stars in any one category in a single year I lose my TRS discount.
